Jay and Bryant broke tradition (in the best way) by getting ready together, at the gorgeous Clayton with family. The men wore chic, custom suits local atelier Ratio Clothing in varying shades of blue that complemented each other and their ceremony artwork perfectly.
"We had custom suits made at Ratio Clothing here in Denver. We wanted something classic with a little bit of flair, so we each got jackets with shawl collars in complementary shades of blue. The whole process was great fun and we ended up with suits we love."
The Clayton's bar area and dark brick facade were a classic and moody backdrop for portraits of the grooms together before the ceremony with Clancey Woodlee.

"Because we had our own plan for food and beverage, we had to find a venue that didn't include catering requirements. Space Gallery was the first one we saw that felt like the exact right space. It's a modern, airy art gallery with soaring ceilings and a lovely, L-shaped patio. It's a beautiful building. And we loved that we'd be surrounded by art during our wedding. We hosted our two cocktail hours and ceremony indoors, enjoyed an amazing dinner outdoors, and then went back inside for dancing, coffee, dessert, and shenanigans."
The couple made a unique choice to begin their wedding with a cocktail hour. It was such a fun to greet their guests and mingle with them for about an hour before the ceremony began. Jay is a classically trained cellist, so he put together a program of perfect songs for the talented Red Rock Strings to play during.
The couple walked down Space Gallery's modern stairs together to a chic ceremony filled with flowers and a deconstructed arch by Iva Grace Fine Art Floral.
"We thad a short but moving ceremony, followed by a second cocktail hour, with fresh oysters and deviled eggs and spiced popcorn. Clearly we're fans of cocktails and parties!"
"We met at a tennis tournament in Philadelphia in the summer of 2014 and dated casually for about a year before getting serious. We met on the east coast but moved to Denver — Bryant in 2015 and Jay in 2016. We love tennis, food and travel. Jay's a scientist and Bryant owns a PR and marketing agency."
After the second delightful cocktail hour, guests were welcomed to the covered outdoor reception - filled with sweeping vines of greenery by Iva Grace Fine Art Floral that radiated an Italian inspired vibe! Paper Forest Design created gorgeous banquet style tablescapes, perfect for a dinner party with all of the grooms' closest friends and family. Their scrumptious dinner was actually catered by a restaurant that doesn't cater weddings!
"Our favorite restaurant is Annette. We've been regulars there since it opened in 2017. As soon as we got engaged, we started talking about how amazing it would be to have Annette prepare a big feast for our wedding. We're friends with the owners, but they don't do big off-site events like that, and they'd never done a wedding. But we asked, and they said yes! Our wedding reception was a big dinner party on the patio of Space Gallery, served family style with our favorite wines. Course after course of deliciousness. So many of our guests told us it was the best meal they'd ever had at a wedding. The next morning, Chef Caroline and her team flew to Chicago for the James Beard Awards, where Caroline won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Mountain."
"We wanted our wedding to evoke an Italian garden even though we were in a modern art gallery in Denver. And our planner, Kelly at Paper Forest Design, did an amazing job of bringing that vibe to life!"
