Weekend weddings are the perfect opportunity to take a mini-vacation and explore an area that you've never been or just an excuse to relax a bit. Our next couple, Daysy and Russ, had that same idea when planning their Charleston, South Carolina wedding. The South Carolina port city founded in 1670, known for it's cobblestone streets, pastel antebellum houses, and the elegant French Quarter.
Daysy and Russ called upon Ooh! Events to assist in planning their Charleston wedding. Daysy was not one of those girls that dreamed about what her wedding would be like, but she did know one thing, she knew she wanted lots of color. See how Daysy incorporated lots of vibrant color and fun into their Charleston, South Carolina wedding at The Cedar Room and read the sweet story on how she and Russ met.
We met the day after Russ’ birthday when he was out celebrating with a few of his friends. It’s actually a fun story – The day before on her actual birthday, he got a call from him Grandmother who was begging him to come see her in Lexington, SC. So he drives down from Charlotte to Lexington to have a birthday dinner with his parent and his grandmother. She’s a piece of work so of course when he gets down there she’s going on and on about the usually things a grandmother wants, “when are you are getting married?” “I need grandbabies!” Russ pays her no mind she does this to him quite often. So she finally tells him, “Well I’m putting my praying breeches on for you that you find a nice girl to marry” and then the next day we met. Those were some strong praying breeches Jessie Dean had on!
Daysy wore the Eternal dress by Anne Barge. A pointed strapless fit and flare gown of modern re-embroidered floral lace and sequined appliques. She paired with the Weston Veil, a cathedral length gathered veil with rounded sequined embroidered trim along edge.
One of the main reasons we wanted to have it in Charleston was because we wanted to make it a weekend event. We wanted our closest friends and family to be there to celebrate our marriage, but we also wanted them to enjoy a weekend getaway in one of the most beautiful cities in the country! We chose The Cedar Room because it’s was very much our style. We love a rustic décor, expose brick, and the natural light. The space really spoke for itself – Russ did an awesome job finding it!
When I was a little girl I never dreamed about what my wedding would be like, but one thing I definitely knew was that I wanted lots of colorful. When I sat down with Erin to pick out the linens, from La Tavola Linen.
She helped me incorporate lots of fun and colorful patterns. I’m not going to lie – I was a little nervous at first but I trusted her and I’m so glad I did! It really brought the room together and made all the colorful flowers pop. I give Erin from Ooh! Events all the credit!
The Sweet Pea from La Tavola Linen was the exact table cloth that was used at the head table. The Nuovo in light blue was used on the round table and as you scroll down you all see some gorgeous napkins those are the Luke napkins in Sky. La Tavola Linen can ship your linens directly to your event. It's quite easy!
