Who says a monochromatic palette can't be warm? This team set out to create a modern fall-themed wedding design that focused on crisp ivory and deep green with a pop of rust instead of the traditional black and white. Inspired by southern magnolia trees, this shoot is every bit as rich and glamourous as the blooms themselves. Keeping with the modern theme, they opted for sleek minimalist gowns with architectural elements and paired them with a painted leather jacket to give the looks a bit of an edge.
R&J Events wanted to show couples that they don't have to go for the typical romantic wedding theme. An edgy wedding with moody details can be just as timeless. Cali & Bloom obviously used the shoot's inspiration, magnolias, in these arrangements but they also incorporated other smaller blooms that had the same rich ivory color, creating a truly unique look. The creamy walls of The Peach Orchard, with their intricate molding and brick details, provided the perfect backdrop for this fall wedding inspiration. Taryn Lynn Photography captured every last detail in these warm photos, from the watercolor invites to the green velvet ring box. To see even more from this shoot, check out the full gallery. This moody styled shoot deviates from the sleek, modern expectations of a black and white color palette to include rich ivories, emerald greens, and warm earth tones inspired by the southern magnolia; a timeless symbol of endurance, strength, and, of course, elegant beauty. A talented team of vendors worked together to carefully craft and curate details for this shoot to inspire couples to plan a wedding that can be both chic and edgy, with just the right amount of southern charm to make any guest feel warm and welcome.
Beautifully photographed by Taryn Lynn Photography and designed by R&J Events alongside Whimsy Design Studio, this shoot is all about juxtaposing modern and timeless. The harmony between these themes can be seen in our elegant ceremony vignette centered around the ornate, vintage fireplace at Houston’s new venue, The Peach Orchard. This fireplace is complemented by dozens of romantic green taper candles in sleek black holders, a modern monogram sign, and an inspired floral installation by Cali & Bloom that expertly balances the full, rust-backed magnolia leaves with delicate textures of greenery and buttery white blooms. The real show stopper was undoubtedly the emerald green velvet loveseat that made an appearance for quick lounge inspiration. Matte black plates on rich black velvet linen create a dark and bold backdrop for the other thoughtful details to pop on the tablescape design. My absolute favorite one of these unique details was custom ceramics crafted by local artist, Jessica Gutierrez Studios, to house the floral centerpiece designs.
For our models, we wanted their dresses to be crisp and sophisticated with just a bit of sex appeal. The dresses from Madi Lane Bridal & Kelly Faetanini, respectively, were the perfect realization of that vision. Here again, the details really completed our vision with earrings from Shop Moss that combined classic pearls with large, hand-sculpted blooms for a real bridal statement piece. Finally, a custom-painted leather jacket from Whimsy Design Studio brought the look full circle with the bold, edgy feel of leather softened by delicate lettering and tons of feminine, hand-drawn florals.
