Enchanting Elopement On A Sailboat On Lake Garda
With the lake breeze in her hair, the bride looked like the water itself as she crossed to the bow of the ship, in her pale blue gown, to meet her future husband (accompanied by their adorable puppy!). The groom, in a white on black tux with velvet smoking loafers, looked effortlessly chic and couldn't help but smile when he saw his bride approach. The captain of the sailboat performed a ceremony for just the three of them and then the two set sail for a romantic night of dinner and dancing on the water. It doesn't get much more romantic than that!
Caterina Lostia helped this couple plan their unconventional nautical elopement and made sure that it still felt very much like a wedding, from the curated place settings to the custom stationery suite. Alessia Serdino created the beautiful floral chandelier that watched over the couple as they said their vows, as well as the whimsical bouquet and colorful boutonniére. Boat Siora Veronica hosted both the ceremony and the reception and created a magical experience that this couple will never forget. A TRUE DESTINATION WEDDING
Sofia's from Ireland, James is from North Africa and together they live in London. It's their shared love for Italy and open waters that led them to Lake Garda following the wind and celebrating their love. Thanks to the overseeing eye of their wedding planner Caterina Lostia, the setting was anything but ordinary–a sailing ship, like something straight out of a pirate novel, as their dance floor, their dog, Grizzly, as the only guest, and Lake Garda and the amazing city of Malcesine as their backdrop. Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom couldn't have done it better!
A CEREMONY ON THE WATER
We met at 4 pm on the boat for their intimate ceremony, performed by the captain himself. Driving into the sunset they popped some bottles. After, they got cozy and enjoyed dinner in a dreamy, romantic setting. Everything was kept simple to let the stunning scenery speak for itself as much as possible. The result was elegant and effortlessly chic, the flowers, decoration, and stationery adding a playful touch.
A LEGENDARY LOVE
Sofia and James blended into the enchanting setting perfectly. Choosing San Venero for his attire and Santimon loafers, the groom went for Italian classy. The bride, on the other hand, went for a more dreamy look with a pastel blue dress by Iris Noble and ocean-inspired jewelry. The couple had only booked me for some hours to keep it as intimate as possible, but it was just too good an elopement for the photographer not to stay until after sunset. It's not every day I have an office like this and a legendary love in front of my camera!
