Bridal Fashion Week brought with it some exciting new trends and reestablished some goodies that are still going strong. For many bridal design houses, this past Bridal Fashion Week was their return to the runway, and they certainly brought their A-game. Brides can expect to see these styles hit the racks at boutiques near them sometime in the fall, but the runway samples will be traveling for trunk shows as early as NOW, so call your local boutique to see what’s coming your way. Overall, the idea right now is that more is more, there’s no such thing as being too extra on your wedding day. With the world still reeling from lockdown and teeming with political turmoil, people (couples and guests alike) are turning to weddings as an escape from the troubles of day-to-day life. It’s a time where they can dress how they want and spend time with their loved ones and think only happy thoughts. So let’s talk about how you can incorporate that mindset and some of our favorite trends into your own wedding ensemble.

Maximalism
Whether it’s bows, beading, or volume, don’t be afraid to go over the top and really commit. And, this trend doesn’t just apply to brides that are returning to big weddings, you can be as extra as you like for your elopement or micro-wedding!
One-shouldered
Asymmetry is always lovely in a gown, but we haven’t seen the one-shouldered trend for quite some time and we’re excited to see it gracing the runways once again. We love it because it adds a little drama to the more minimal styles and gives the look some interest from every angle.
Square Neckline
Move over sweetheart, the square neckline is all anyone can talk about and we definitely have Bridgerton to thank for this one. This Regency-era cut is popular for a reason, it’s simple, it’s sexy, and it looks good on everyone! The great thing about this trend is that you can find it on gowns with and without sleeves, depending on the look or season you’re shopping for.
Skin Is In
The runways are definitely bringing sexy back to bridal and this is likely to meet the higher demand for destination wedding gowns. Whether it’s an exotic elopement or a beachy micro-wedding, couples are eager to get out of their bubble and relax a bit, so why not slip into something a little more comfortable? In addition to straight-up sexy dresses with high slits and low backs, there’s a lot of subtle skin on the runway too like sheer corseted gowns with lace overlays.
The Non-Gown
While many brides are leaning toward “the bigger the better” mentality with their gowns, some are making a big statement in their own way by ditching the gown altogether and going with a suit or jumpsuit. Thankfully, the bridal designers have them covered with unique bridal suiting options that still serve that “bride” feel.
Princess Sleeves
We must admit, we thought we would see this trend come and go in a season and it would be a fun fashion moment in time, but we’re happy to say that brides are still loving the princess sleeve. From small off-the-shoulder puffs to full-on Juliette sleeves, there’s a sliding scale for how to incorporate this trend into your wedding day look.
