When there is so much tragedy happening around us, it can be hard to put that aside and truly feel good about celebrating anything, even a wedding. For Catie and Elliot, the pandemic hit close to home because Catie is working on the front lines as an RN. Hard times also make you realize what is most important and they knew that celebrating their love and committing to forever together was something they really wanted to do. They decided to throw an understated but beautiful wedding in a modern art space and it's one of the most tasteful and romantic mid-pandemic weddings we've ever seen.

They explained their vision to Minne Weddings and Rocket Science Events who truly brought it to life. They found Holden Room, a cool, modern space that was the perfect backdrop for this modern-art-themed wedding. Lilia Flower Boutique created these minimalist all-white floral arrangements that complemented the modern interior perfectly! Cadence & Eli took these lovely photos that focused on the love between this happy couple and their family and friends. Keep scrolling to hear more from Gretchen of Rocket Science Events about this lovely wedding and make sure to check out the full gallery for even more inspo!

A CELEBRATION ALL ABOUT THE LOVE

Catie and Elliot first met through a mutual friend who invited them both to a Minnesota Twins game. The pair ended up sitting next to each other at the game and immediately hit it off, talking all night long. Years later, Elliot planned a special proposal after a day of fishing out on the lakes with friends. At sunset, he opened a yellow floating ring box and popped the question right on the lake. When it came to planning their wedding, they were inspired by the needs of the time. As an RN, Catie was feeling the stress of the pandemic and they both knew how important it was to keep their friends and family safe during COVID. They hired Minne Weddings, who created a chic minimalist pop-up wedding that was a perfect fit for them and their families.

A ONE-OF-A-KIND BACKDROP

The ceremony design was a statement piece, featuring an oversized art print backdrop with organic florals. The modern vibes continued through to the reception, with lighting installations, monochromatic blooms, and more painted art wall backdrops for a one-of-a-kind look. A favorite moment of the day was having all 21 of their guests at one large table for an intimate family-style dinner.

SOME ADVICE FROM THE HAPPY COUPLE

Their best wedding day advice? "Do what you feel. No, really! Lean on each other and just do what feels right. Don’t listen too much to family, traditions, or what other people want for you because you can create what you want yourself." Trust your gut and do what might be unordinary, do what is right for you and your loved one. It really is your day. And remember to take a breath and “see” your wedding happening with your partner. Remember it.
