Don’t let the winter theme fool you, this wedding inspiration at The Granary would be beautiful any time of the year! Mixed metals and metallics give this shoot a romantic edge while the candlelit table and draping fabrics create a soft ambiance that's almost magic.
The modern chic bride looks radiant in her Maggie Sottero dress, while the groom rocked a metallic bow tie + shoes. All the vendors did an amazing job so be sure to show them some love below, and catch a closer look at the entire shoot styled and captured by Sidney Leigh Photography in the full gallery.
First of all, this styled shoot was SO MUCH FUN to be part of! A new venue, The Granary, hosted the shoot, and we transformed the space that typically seats up to 200 guests into a romantic, intimate setting. The beautiful part of this shoot is that so many of the vendors, most of whom are small business owners local to the area, were able to actually participate in the shoot on the day of!
Our details were a perfect contrast between soft and edgy, with metallic accents laced throughout. The sheers paired with concrete floors made a beautiful, minimalistic setting, which allowed our metallic hanging branch installation to be the focal point of our tablescape. Soft organic linens paired with dozens of brass and gold candlesticks created a delicate balance on the table, and the wedding cake, designed by Bijou’s Sweet Treats, tied the entire editorial look together. Metallic accents throughout the details included dusty gold florals, the perfect bar cart with a stunning winter martini signature cocktail, and gold calligraphy ink woven into the paper goods.
The Granary is a new venue in the Shenandoah Valley, housed within a 125 year old bank barn that was initially located 15 miles north of where it currently sits. The barn was slated to be demolished for the commercial development of one of the area’s oldest farms, and my father (the owner of the venue) disassembled the barn, relocated it, and reconstructed it just as he found it. The old bank barn was then refinished, and the lower level of the bank barn, formerly a granary for the previous farm, was converted into a wedding and event venue with an agroindustrial aesthetic, similar to that of a Richmond-esque warehouse, complete with custom gray acid-stained floors, white shiplap siding, and original hand-hewn beams and columns as the exposed structure.
