Rows of blooming lavender at Seven Oaks Farm in Virginia were the idyllic backdrop for this whimsical inspiration from Chancey Charm DC and captured by Maddy Williams Photography. The overall design came together with soft hues of purple and a modern vintage aesthetic that includes copper accents and vintage furnishings.
No wedding is complete without a sugar-filled dessert table, and this one had a mouth-watering selection of cake donuts and macaroons set against a marble and gold cake. Yummy! We’d like to think this shoot smelled as good as it looked! Check out all the highlights below, and snag a closer look in the full gallery.
From Chancey Charm DC: Rare in wedding florals, we were drawn to lavender early on in our planning sessions, especially when we found the ideal setting at Seven Oaks Farm in Catlett, Virginia. Located on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., the farm’s rows of blooming lavender were the perfect backdrop to feature our whimsical, sugar-filled shoot. Our goal was to create something for brides who loved vibrant color and wanted to embrace fun and creativity when designing their wedding.
Our first focus was creating a romantic table setting for our couple and their wedding party. To compliment the soft textures of the lavender field, we paired copper accents and vintage neutral pieces to marry the styles of modern and romantic. The florals adorning the table tied in our purple hues and lush greenery, while the hand lettered marble place cards added a luxurious touch.
One feature of the shoot that we spent extra time on was an out of the box sweets table with macaroons and colorful cake donuts. These playful desserts were a fun contrast to the three-tiered wedding cake, decorated with a marble wash and copper leaf. Last, we added a nod to the purple hue with bold signature cocktails and statement mule mugs for two.
