This whimsical Alice wedding inspiration was planned and designed by Jennie of A Divine Affair. Drawing inspiration from the novel Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, this extremely talented group of vendors decided on a very playful, whimsical feel with some vintage elements.
The invitation suite was hidden within an antique copy of Alice in Wonderland; and as you opened it up you unleashed the details of the event. Peruse through all of those gorgeous details in the full gallery here, photographed by Eva Derrick Photography.
The shoot took place at Gracewood Estate at Kurtz Orchards in Niagara on the Lake. This estate house was built in 1819 surrounded by an English Garden and an orchard; which now features very mature trees, which offered the perfect backdrop for our shoot. The bride wore a stunning tea length gown by Catherine Langlois and modern jewelry by Stella and Dot, featuring a showstopper ring, by Tacori. Hair and makeup was styled by Honor Beauty, adorned with a floral crown by Bloom & Co.
Jennie wanted the reception table to be among the orchard and surrounded by teacups hanging from the trees. The table was surrounded by mismatched chairs and included mismatched vintage plates and glassware with a table runner created with pages from an old book by My Lovely Blonde Closet. Simply Beautiful and Anne & Co provided all decor and vintage rentals. There were floral napkin rings and napkin rings hand-tied with skeleton keys. Each place setting had a menu rolled up in a scroll. The seating chart showcased antique playing cards, with name tags that hung within a gold frame.
We utilized the English Gardens for cocktail hour which included a vintage tea cart and a sweets table on a vintage vanity. The sweets table included two beautiful cakes, cupcakes, macarons and delicate hand painted sugar cookies. One cake was hand painted and decorated with cascading sugar flowers, while the other had beautiful gold and blush accents and a teacup on top. Sweet Celebrations also created sugar lollies, inset with edible flowers, script and clock faces.
