From Kati Hewitt Photography: "The Farmhouse is an all-white venue with incredible views and pristine white walls." Tiffani, who co-owns Love Birds with her mother, Bridgette told us in an interview. "We wanted to make sure that the florals were soft and feminine, but still beefy enough to give us that Mid-Summer Night's Dream look we were going for." The team tapped Amie Savell of College Park Flowers to help them create the whimsical look they were after.
The chapel arbor, a 13-foot-tall relic saved from an abandoned church in Nebraska, was covered in greenery and flanked by florals in whispers of blush and white. "Creating this look was all about marrying the beauty of a botanical themed wedding with the whimsy and romance of vintage style. But even the most beautiful wedding flowers can be visually overwhelming if they are not paired with a stunning gown," Tiffani continued. "We absolutely fell in LOVE with this rose gold embroidered Martina Liana gown the moment we saw it. We knew that the florals for this editorial would be very grand, and we had to find a gown that would not only hold its own, but stand out."
Rose gold accents mixed with soft, vintage furnishings, authentic pink depression glass and antique books helped soften the contemporary look of venue and tall, boxwood walls created contrast for an all-white cake created by Buttercup Bakery. "When Amie came in with the boxwood walls, we knew we had a hit. The bright green brought the entire color story together. White venues can be really hard to decorate, and sometimes the lightest colors can get lost, especially if you have a photographer who's style lends itself to lighter, more airy edits. Light and airy are beautiful, but you really have to be certain that there's enough contrast in your design to keep the space from feeling washed out."
"When you are decorating with Vintage pieces, it's all about adding a layer of history and patina to your event. You want to see the distressing on the doors, and the rubbed edges of books. You want the space to be filled with its own story. There is a way to make vintage feel new and current and that is by using fewer pieces with more impact. Cutting down on knick-knacks and replacing them with florals, makes your event feel much more polished. Your wedding is in itself telling a story of two people and two families. Vintage botanical, done right, can help you tell that story in a beautiful way."
