Vintage Peach Wedding Ideas From the UK

rose halo

This next wedding inspirational shoot came all the way from the United Kingdom! Gaby Frescura of SouthBound Bride designed this breathtaking photo shoot set at the rustic Gaynes Park. Using peaches and peach blossoms as inspiration, a group of UK vendors worked together to create these beautiful wedding ideas with bohemian and vintage touches.
Gaby shares with us tips and tricks on how to recreate all the looks you see! All beautifully captured by Anneli Marinovich Photography. Don't miss a single vintage peach wedding idea in the full gallery here.

From Gaby Frescura of SouthBound Bride:The idea behind the shoot was to create an elegant, summery table in a rustic outdoor setting, incorporating some of our favourite trends, and celebrating the fun and friendship of brides and their bridesmaids. A table in a field was our starting point, and once we started playing with ideas around ombre and watercolour, as well as peach as both a colour and a motif, the theme came together. We gathered a fantastic team of UK suppliers to make the look come to life, and despite battling a windy day, we’re so happy with how it all turned out!

Our venue, Gaynes Park, provided the perfect rustic backdrop, with a gorgeous barn as well as the fields and orangery. The palette for the shoot was the range of tones from pale cream to warm apricot and into pretty pink – the colors of a ripening peach.

For our outdoor look, we chose to use a long table with white linen and a breathtaking ombre floral centrepiece with fresh blooms and lush greenery. We complemented this look with watercolour napkins (an easy DIY item), coloured glassware and peaches in cute brown paper pockets tied up with string. Our stationery reflected the soft peach blossom theme, and real peaches were also used throughout.

Our bride had three separate looks: a boho Claire Pettibone gown paired with a lace Juliet cap and veil, a blush Sarah Janks lace overlay dress and a frothy romantic creation from Blush. She carried two bouquets, both inspired by the painterly quality of our watercolour details.

Instead of just showing a bride on her own, we wanted to capture the spirit of the bridal party as well, so included two looks for our bridesmaids in both short and long dresses. They carried bespoke vintage handkerchiefs, a lovely gift from a bride.

We also set up a dessert table, with a traditional 'naked' Victoria sponge topped with a dusting of icing sugar, marzipan peaches and mini bunting. We complemented this with pretty macarons in peach and apricot flavours. Sugar biscuits hung from lace ribbons, swaying gently in the breeze.

Read on for tips from the Event Designer, Gaby Frescura of SouthBound Bride, on how to recreate these peach wedding looks!

Top tips for recreating the look:

• Using long tables allows you to have central garlands, graduating in colour from one end of a spectrum to the other. With such a gorgeous display you won’t need much more in terms of table décor, but if you’re on a budget, you can use fewer flowers in a variety of containers, also graduating in colour as they move up the table.
• Fresh peaches give a lovely feeling of natural abundance to the tables. Create peach pockets with brown paper and string, or simply cut a slice in a single peach to create a no-fuss holder for a name tag or a table number.
• Coloured glassware really adds something special (but subtle) to a table – you can hire glassware to match your colours, or do as we did and raid your local thrift stores! You’d be amazed what you can find.
• To create the watercolour-style napkins, we mixed paint with water in small pump bottles and sprayed it onto plain white napkins. The spray allows you to control the intensity of colour.
• Dress your bridesmaids in slightly different shades of peach and apricot – even if there are only a couple, you’ll get a lovely ombre effect.
• Bouquets are fresh, lush and loose. I especially love the trailing bouquet, which is making a real comeback at the moment.
• Custom printed handkerchiefs make the most adorable gifts for your bridesmaids, or print them up with menus and give them as favours to your guests.
• Keep makeup natural for both bride and bridesmaids in soft peachy tones, with just a hint of colour on the lips.
