The inspiration for this shoot comes from a city block of downtown San Diego's East Village. Filled with local graffiti art and a rich urban vibe, it's the perfect backdrop for the urban/industrial design of this wedding. From the local beer favors, to the gorgeous chalkboard wedding cake - we're smitten with all the new ideas this shoot has to offer!
If you're loving this urban inspired wedding then we have more for you to see! Check out the full gallery here with photos by Taylor Abeel Photography and styling by Totem Weddings & Events, you won't want to miss it.
For our florals we went minimal. Black and whites, with touches of yellow. The dress was very modern and looked perfect with the layered bouquet next to it.
For the favors, I decided to bring in San Diego's best craft beers to celebrate the city while giving guests a great memento of their time. I think this is a practical, awesome favor if I do say so myself.
I also envision a food truck in the space. This is such a new and fun way to bring meals to your guests, and in an open space like this, it makes perfect sense. I wanted the food to make sense with the space also, so you see a lot of color and very fun plates. No fancy food here!
The cake was a "chalboard" cake with modern sugar flowers and touches of color. I want to dare brides to be a bit more adventurous but still keep the whimsy, and romance. Have fun with it! It's your day!
