You know that tired and antiqued look of stained glass? Well, imagine the EXACT opposite of that - one that's not tired in the least, but rather boundless in energy, bright, exciting, whimsy, and so nouveau - and you'll land somewhere in the vicinity of this stunning inspired editorial. A modern twist on the garden wedding, this styled-like-stain-glass shoot features the best of a natural, organic setting and crisp, geometric lines. Bright color and bold lines were essential to creating this unique look that not only mirrored stained glass, but artistic, fashionable shattered glass in general. By bringing the more contemporary and geometric patterns of shattered glass together with fun and playful florals and imitated stained glass elements, a one-of-a-kind garden aesthetic was born.

The glass greenhouse setting for our shoot was nestled within the heart of Texas Women's University, near The Little Chapel in the Woods. This setting was the perfect neutral, yet still super impactful backdrop for our ceremony space, which also featured clear Phoenix chairs, provided by Marquee Event Rentals (they mirrored the glass look of the greenhouse). Using a clear and impressionable canvas allowed the boldly colorful florals created by KatieBug Florals to really pop.
Donning a geometric-lace with floral appliqued gown by Watters and shopped at the luxurious Bridal Boutique Lewisville, our bride was the embodiment of sunshine. Her hair and makeup look was artfully created by Lip Service, and featured a bold, fuchsia lip and a playful, but formal updo.
The bride's bouquet seemed to explode with color as it was set against the white of the gown, and the climbing florals adorning the greenhouse brought the same brightness to the setting. The full and lush blooms provided by KatieBug Florals, further accentuated the look of unrestrained organic beauty being layered over the predictable geometric patterns found throughout the shoot.
Our tablescape rentals featured a contrasting shade of aqua found in little touches throughout the shoot. While fuchsia and yellow seemed to be the star of the show, the places where blue touches were found played perfectly in adding that classic multi-colored, stained-glass, look. All of the Amalfi & Positano china, gold flatware, gold-rimmed and blue romana glasses, and trieste charger plates were provided by Marquee Event Rentals.
Our stationery was created by LaneLove Paper Co., designed to look like stained glass, and married the organic look of the floral with a very modern look of acrylic. Menus were printed on vellum to have a more frosty look and stand out against the bold colors featured throughout this aesthetic.
Settled between the arches of our greenhouse, Blondie's Bake House created a bright and beautiful cake featuring a layer of colorful sugar shards that created the illusion of shattered glass. It shone perfectly as the sun switched positions throughout the day.
