Villa Balbiano is a hidden gem tucked away along the famous Lago di Como. With its natural beauty of vast gardens and lakeside panoramas - it was the perfect backdrop for an intimate elopement. The entire design was created to compliment the venue. The whole day was focused on the scenery and personal touches to make their day - truly theirs. 

The elopement's color palette was set with blushes, mauves, peaches, whites and cream tones and a metallic accent of gold - with the florals showcasing primarily white, cream and greenery foraged from the surrounding area. The brides custom gown design was a subtle blush and white, with the groom in a classic white dinner jacket. 

To keep the scenery of Como as the focus, the ceremony was a simple, yet lush arbor of greenery and all white/cream florals - set against the landscape of Lake Como itself. 

Handwritten vows were exchanged by the couple - with the overarching theme of their entire day resting in the quote by Pablo Naruda's Sonnet XVII "I love you without knowing how or when or from where" The couple had it written in their vows and incorporated into their stationery. 

For their stationery, the couple kept with the soft blush/cream tones - and opted for a few special details - like having the lyrics to their favorite song (first dance song) written out in calligraphy, a hand-drawn venue illustration in their envelope liner - and a custom map of Como highlighting their venue location. 

The reception was set for 6 - the bride/groom and both sets of parents - for an intimate candlelit dinner under the canopy of a weepy tree on the property. The design was heavy candlelight/romance and a touch of the unexpected with peaches adorned with calligraphy- which doubled as their escort cards. 

Rosé was the perfect celebratory drink of choice to blend in with the overall color story as well. Their cake was a simple soft blush fondant 2 tier round punctuated by a soft ribbon with hand-calligraphed lyrics to their favorite song. The duo ended their night by exiting the venue in classic Lake Como fashion - a wooden Riva boat - back to the Albergo Terminus Hotel for their honeymoon night.
