You can win just about anything on social media these days and our next couple was one of the very lucky ones out there! They won this beautifully styled micro-elopement inspired by Jane Austen and the rolling English countryside at the Manor at Makefield Highlands.
So how exactly did they get so lucky? Well, Sarah French Events wanted to do something different for her styled shoots so she held a contest on IG looking for RL couples. “I wanted to find a way to honor both--couples that can't (for whatever reason) afford the gorgeous wedding day they deserve and keep the creative spark of styled shoots alive.” Catch all the romance below captured by Joshua Michael Johnson in the full gallery.
From Sarah French Events: What I came up with was an IG contest where couples would nominate themselves (or someone else would nominate couples) to "win" a styled micro-elopement. The shoot itself functions very much like a normal styled shoot--it just has a real couple who are (in theory) saying real vows. Our theme was "English Country/Jane Austen Wedding". Open Aire Affairs loved the idea and offered their gorgeous venue Manor at Makefield Highlands. We had a dream team of vendors come together including the wonderful Josuha Johnson Photography, Kim, from A Cottage Gardner put together flowers straight from a Jane Austen love story, and PGP shot the most gorgeous video of the day.
In the end, the couple that won our shoot opted to not elope at the shoot (they weren't sure they'd win, so they'd already started planning something for a few years from now with their families), but we kept the spirit behind it with our design and photo/videos. My goal is to keep doing these in the future and open it up to people who are married but deserve a vow renewal/elopement of their dreams.
