Let's be perfectly clear: a wedding orchestrated in the midst of the Tuscan countryside will always pull at our heart strings. But sadly, according to the Italian florist and extended team who planned this romantic styled shoot, Autumn nuptials are endlessly underrated. It's a darn shame, too, because the natural ambiance in Tuscany Chiantishire in early fall is full of warmth and phenomenal photogeniety - because the lighting for pictures is magical (golden hour shots all day, every day) and never too strong. Vendors know what's up, and we're so thankful to them for bringing us and our knot-tying-in-Tuscany prospective couples this perfect plan for a seasonally-stunning soiree.
The Chianti region in Italy is famous for its vibrant vineyards, impeccably-tasting red wine, and beautiful Cypress trees on the Tuscan rolling hills, and this editorial brings all of the edge to the table in a way that sparkles in its painterly composition and is full of note-worthy and dreamlike details. The couple who stunned as bride and groom in this shoot was actually composed of two close friends from childhood. That fact made the atmosphere so much more special and natural, full of beautiful feelings. Real friends or real couples make the best models, anyway, because they have real-deal love for each other, they're not awkward in front of the camera!
The ancient statue on the venue's grounds inspired us to choose the bride’s dress from Italian bridal designer Nadia Manzato, a young talent influenced by greats like Moschino and Valentino. Nadia gives her brides fresh, original looks, that represent them and showcase their personalities and spirits - which is exactly what she did with this show-stopping off-the-shoulder gown. Romantic, youthful, and goddesslike.
We are in the heart of the Tuscan Chiantishire, Villa La Selva Wine resort is a beautiful estate with renaissance elements in the garden such as statues and fountains and the typical Tuscan Cypress avenues. It is so special, because it combines the elegance of a villa with the rural countryside all around. Olive trees and vineyards produce the famous Chianti wine and local olive oil that this destination is known for. The organic nature and its colors in Autumn inspired us with the flowers, which we styled to look like they were growing spontaneously out of the ceremony backdrop: delphinium, ranunculus, roses, hellebores, tulips created a frame for the ancient statue and a beautiful backdrop for the marrying Mr. and Mrs. We loved the contrast between the Tuscan rural countryside outside the villa and the bold Italian architecture of the interior gardens.
For the table setting, we choose elegant and romantic plates, without forgetting to bring in some contemporary cutlery with modern accents! And at sunset, the decor sparkled with beautiful lights all around, the magical atmosphere of the crystal chandelier and hanging flowers gave such a touch of romance to the wild Tuscan countryside. The outcome is something special, simple and graceful. And the delicate light of the sun complemented the bride and groom in every moment, from the ceremony to the reception and right on through the day's end.
How romantic was that bench, too? The couple looking in the same direction? This is LOVE! The cake was a small delicious meringue, and we chose the Cypress trees as backdrop to enhance the majesty of this moment.
