We all know that being sustainable is the right and responsible thing to do, but rarely do responsible and fun go hand-in-hand. This team set out to prove that being responsible with your wedding design can be just as fun as it is sustainable. With an open-air venue that is as at one with Mother Nature as it gets and a plan for composting the florals, they were on their way to a beautiful eco-friendly inspiration shoot. The inspiration for the color palette also came from nature, bringing in colors from the naturally growing citrus and the lush green surroundings.
Flawless Destination Weddings designed this breathtaking inspiration shoot at Ahau Tulum and worked hard to curate a team of vendors that are just as passionate about sustainability as they are. Liz Alarcon designed the florals for this shoot and aided in the eco-friendly composting and distribution of them when the shoot was over. Luxart Wedding Studio was there to capture every moment of this sexy (but responsible) beach shoot. All of the photos from this shoot can be found in the full gallery. We wanted to show that sustainability can be fun, wild, and chic. These were our key keywords for this inspirational shoot. We live in the Riviera Maya, so we got inspiration from the whimsical style of the Mother of Earth statue, the green jungle, and fruits like kiwi and pink grapefruit. The first time we saw the venue, we knew we wanted to keep the smokey tones with the vibrant colors of the fruits. When we started the inspiration board, it just melted perfectly!
Everyone involved is from other parts of the world and met in Ahau Tulum. When everything began we agreed that Tulum was the perfect place to make this inspiration happen because this is where we first connected. We couldn't think of another place besides Ahau Tulum. When we saw the Mother Earth statue, we knew we wanted to freeze it forever with a pure love story. There are too many things that I would highlight from this inspiration. The venue has a great story. The owner made all the furniture in their restaurant, so the vibe when you are inside is just incredibly awesome. His vision took him to the Mother Earth statue which is one of the most famous statues in Tulum. We needed to wait about an hour to get the photos with the Mother Earth statue, but it was totally worth it!
Grace has a really sexy personality, she captures you with her eyes, her tanned skin goes perfectly with the boho-jungle style of Tulum, and she shines when she smiles! Edberg, couldn't be a better partner for her. He is full of charisma, charming, and has an imposing soul. The wedding gown was picked as an organic-natural style, so we wanted to highlight the colors with a crown made of Garden Rose, Pincushion Protea, Ranunculus, Rose, Cymbidium Orchid, Carnations, and Eucalyptus. In the end, some flowers were used as compost and the other ones were given to the other vendors as bouquets! Always think about sustainability!
The sensuality that the couple reflects is just stunning. Their personalities matched flawlessly with all the elements that surrounded them. The first kiss in the ceremony was timeless!!! Everybody was waiting for that moment, and when they kissed, the people that were looking started to clap and laugh. It was a breath-taking view of the wild beach of Tulum with the sparkling colors of the flowers.
