When you're planning your elopement (and yes you totally need to plan an elopement) don't limit yourself to traditional venues. Think outside the box like this team did with this playful elopement in a skatepark. The brides are both skaters, so what better way to celebrate than in their element? Whimsical pastels meet smooth concrete and the mixture of hard and soft makes for some truly magical photos. Inspired by skate culture, Hennessy Photo Co designed this shoot to showcase the adventurous side of love.
They teamed up with Blumen Haus Floral to create these uber-feminine floral arrangements that embody the pure joy that is this shoot. Keep reading to hear more from Hennessy Photo Co about this shoot and for some tips on planning your own elopement.
It was important to me to showcase an LGBTQ skating couple in their real element, with roller derby inspiration, so this styled elopement was created to give homage to real skate couples celebrating love. Much of this culture involves skate-culture in many milestone life events, and it was important to capture a real couple with the skate elements that are important to them. This elopement was hosted right outside of Denver, CO at a local skatepark with a minimal budget. The wedding dresses were thrifted locally, and hair and makeup was done by each bride themself. Loud, pastel florals were created by Blumen Haus Floral with a Vans Skate checkered inspiration to tie in the skate elements to the florals.
