If you’re dreaming of getting married by the sea, just wait till you see this wedding inspiration at The Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa. Inspired by the ocean and all shades of blue, Le Festin Events brought this rustic contemporary wedding to life with the help of a talented team of vendors in tones of blue and white.
They created the ultimate “wow factor” for the reception by hanging blue and white vases filled with flowers from the tented ceiling, then tied it all together with blue velvet linens, and matching blue and white vase centerpieces. From La Festin Events: The inspiration for this shoot focused on the sea and showcasing the power of blue. We wanted to create an ambiance that matched the stunning venue and dreamt of a lovely couple with a refreshing, yet seductive elegance. Our couple is in contemporary wedding attire and start in a somewhat rustic ceremony space, overlooking the ocean. We focus here on the outdoors and wanted to create something that didn’t distract from the view. My favorite part of the ceremony is actually the beautiful composite bouquet which matches so beautifully with our bride’s dress. It’s a teaser of what is to come for the reception.
Throughout the shoot, it was important for us to go back to the ocean. The best way for guests to truly take in their surroundings and show off the gorgeous Pacific was to set the reception inside a clear tent. With this, guests are not only able to see the outside, but enjoy the amazing sunset dipping into the water as well. To soften the tent, we draped all sides with white chiffon and brought topiaries to create a fluidity between in and outdoors.
We wanted to have a “wow factor” as soon as you entered the tent, and this was accomplished by creating a focal point of hanging large blue and white porcelain pots directly from the canopy. As you are welcomed in, your eye is led directly to the head table, which was flanked by topiaries and florals. Because we wanted a seductive feel, all linens were luscious blue velvet, layered with shantung napkins in a lighter shade of blue. We used nothing but blue and white porcelain vases and bowls filled with blue and white florals.
We used very neutral china on modern grey chargers, paired with modern flatware. For warmth vintage grey goblets and beautifully hand-lettered arabesque mirror tiles were used. Throughout the tent, we used a contemporary bar and lounge furniture, again only in greys and whites. The design did not stop at the surroundings, food was also taken into consideration as we dreamt of fun inclusions, including a gorgeous 2-tiered hand painted cake inspired by blue and white porcelain. We also created blue cotton candy sparkling drinks, seafood, fun cocktails and fun ways to display dessert.
