Puppies Galore in This Earthy, Artistic Wedding Inspiration Shoot
What do you get when you cross a modern duo of animal lovers with an engagement and a shared respect for eco-focused and sustainable living? A wedding that is practical, down to earth, and dialed in to the things that matter most: the best guest experience and equally phenomenal photos to remember it all by. Sure, the guest count was trimmed, but in doing so, the couple was able to splurge on a few super creative and talk-worthy things that 1) made the day feel really special and 2) felt really special and personal to them. You've heard of the Best Man, but what about the man's best friend?
This is a couple who loves dogs and wants their guests to experience the greatest joy on earth - puppy cuddles! By featuring a “Puppy Lounge” at their cocktail hour, filled with rescue puppies and a selfie wall, this couple hopes to show people that adorable puppies can come from shelters and perhaps even inspire an adoption or two. The desire for the bride to have free hands to hold the puppies inspired the idea for a gorgeous floral sleeve and coordinating wrist corsages for the bridesmaids. #flowersfurfido? We should make that a thing!
Puppies and personalization, a pretty perfect pairing
The design for the shoot centered around Autumn in California with a vibrant color palette of desert coral, peach, amber and blush. Artistic details abound with an oil painting-meets watercolor-inspired cake, watercolor artwork on the stationery, and custom sketches of each guest as their place card (which also doubled as a favor). Designers Megan from Megan Rose Events and Kristen from Veils & Tails Photography brought in earthy elements with wood farm tables, stoneware plates, and brushed copper chargers and flatware. This earthy vibe was carried into the ceremony design by Floral Designer Margaret Joan with a loose, organic floral installation on the twig and vine ceremony altar that bursts with colorful blooms among greenery and foraged, local pomegranates. Fall fruits were used as dinner table decor and at the ceremony aisle entrance.
A full-on animal affair
The idyllic Whispering Rose Ranch in Solvang, CA, with its tree-lined, grassy event spaces and panoramic views of the Santa Ynez Valley, was the perfect setting for these animal lovers to tie the knot. Also the site of a world-renowned horse training center, horses gallup and graze throughout the property and a large family of deer can often be spotted basking in the late afternoon sun.
