From K. Engel Photography: This shoot was born from a 1903 book of paintings of an estate in Maine that I have. The paintings have such an old world, vintage European feel, with many of the fruits and trees you find in Italy that I immediately was transported and an idea began to form.
A few days later, while hunting in Home Goods I came across the skinny blue pillar candles and new I wanted to create an intimate Italian garden elopement. The story behind the shoot is that this young couple is visiting the bride's grandmother at their family estate in Italy from abroad. While there, they decide to elope at the home and incorporate their Italian heritage.
Because they decide on an intimate, but lavish lunch affair, they have cutting boards hand made to serve as their place settings, denoting their new roles as Mr. and Mrs. Utilizing as many fruits and vegetables and natural elements from grandmother's home, they throw together a lavish dinner for two, complete with gelato for dessert, before riding off on their vintage Vespa to honeymoon in the Italian countryside.
