Now This Is Why Black And White Will Never Go Out Of Style

Orange You Glad We Met

Somehow this shoot manages to walk the line between monochromatic and hypersaturated and it so works! The venue, The Clara Los Angeles, brings the drama with a strong black and white color palette. This allowed the design team to play with any colors they wanted, so they went big with bright tangerine orange, fuchsia, and lime green. The brides' ensembles echoed the black and white scheme and allowed each bride to shine in her own right.

True Splendor Events designed this vibrant wedding inspiration and created all of the florals. They wanted to show couples that bright colors can be sophisticated when incorporated into a black and white foundation. Marisa Peterson focused on contrast in these photos and really utilized the space and the floral accents to their fullest, creating unique photos that will make you do a double-take. THE COLOR IS IN THE DETAILS

Orange You Glad We Met

The Clara Los Angeles, located in the Arts district of sunny Los Angeles, has a rich history and boasts an original 1923 bank vault and elegant 19’ ceilings. This historic Art Deco bank turned venue was the perfect setting for our “Orange You Glad We Met” shoot. Wedding and event designer Shanelle Williams of True Splendor Events wanted to showcase how pops of color, in this case, pink and orange, can be the perfect complement to classic black and white accents such as those found at The Clara. Photographer extraordinaire, Marisa Peterson of Peterson Design and Photography has a keen eye for capturing bright and colorful photos and this shoot was no different. It’s all about the details when it comes to flat lays so pearl rings from Pearls Only and fun ring boxes from The Mrs. Box were a must. Marisa, a master at flat lays, perfectly captured the essence of this color palette–bold but soft, edgy yet classic!

SOME STAND-OUT PIECES

Orange You Glad We Met

We knew for this shoot we wanted a statement piece for the seating chart. Megan Lortz of Blushing Calligraphy was on board to create something special for us. Megan used a stained glass effect to bring in pops of orange and pink from the color palette into the seating chart. The result was a fresh take on a seating chart that truthfully could easily double as an art piece. Our cake was crafted by the talented Natalie Rappuhn of Half Baked Co. Inspired by the art deco accents at The Clara, Natalie created a unique black triple-layer cake with white and gold accents. It was truly a showstopping piece.

DOUBLE THE GLAM

Orange You Glad We Met

It was a joy working with our two brides and seeing their love for each other translate so well on camera and it meant we could indulge in double the wedding dresses, double the glam, and double the bouquets! Real couple, Anabel and Michelle are truly love personified. Anabel wore a Maggie Sottero gown from Bridal Elegance Studio. The studio features some of the most amazing gowns and this particular one is one of their more popular selections while Michelle wore a custom black gown from Anamolie. Their hair and makeup were done by Kelsea D. Guevara of Beauty By Kelsea. Anabel modeled face-framing waves with a pearl headband and soft glam while Michelle modeled a sculpted low bun adorned with pearls. Kelsea applied just the right amount of glam to highlight our brides’ best features. The bouquets by Shanelle of True Splendor Events feature bright and colorful florals as well as a classic white option that paired perfectly with the black and white gowns.
