The shoot took place in the Lounge Room at Mint Room Studios. Although located in the heart of Toronto, it still brings the traditional Moroccan style that we were looking for. You can consider renting this space out for your needs.
Our model Emma and I have known each other since we were young. She started her modeling careers a few years ago, and I knew she would be the perfect fit. Emma and her boyfriend Alex are high school sweethearts who have a knack for quirky expression and following the trail less traveled. Emma’s natural presence in front of the camera lightens up each image. With the contrast of her “vogue” stare and her bright smile, she delivered a diverse mix of editorial & authentic imagery.
Like any shoot, the plan didn’t go exactly as expected. Our original florist had to back out of this shoot due to COVID 19 complications. The search for a new florist was difficult, but coming across Brock from Beaux Florals was saving grace. After contacting him, he sent a photo of a Moroccan inspired centerpiece he had just finished creating as a personal project. It was too perfect to be anything but fate. He is a genius when it comes to transforming a space with flair. Each detail has so much thought put into it. From the mix of fresh & dried florals to the layers of color & texture. Each piece was chosen with great care and sourced from Simply Beautiful Decor. Brock prides himself on delivering only the best. Having worked as a hairstylist for years, this new creative endeavor is yet another place he excels.
Our dress was sourced from Sash & Bustle, the leader in dresses for the modern, care-free bride. Their dresses have details that make all of the difference, and a space that adds even more to the experience. They’ve actually just relocated to an even bigger space in Toronto. We decided on a dress by It was designed by Tara Lauren that had a beautiful slit to show off Emma’s tattoos on her feet.
The biggest piece of advice for brides to take away from this is to take care in finding the vendors that offer you everything that you want. You can create a beautiful wedding anywhere. If your plans were effected by COVID you can still choose to elope and create a beautiful day that is uniquely yours. Add in your quirks to your wedding, and choose to spend however much you feel comfortable with. Sometimes less can be more, intent is everything. Own your story.
