From Eventive Moments

As a florist and a wedding planner, we have seen many flowers and weddings. We believe flowers are mother nature’s jewels and wanted to do a styled shoot that can showcase its beauty. 

We fell in love with Malibou Lake Lodge and thought it was the perfect location since the venue is hidden in the rustic Santa Monica Mountains, shaded by sycamore and oak trees and beside a storied private lake. The venue’s rich greenery, as well as rustic touches inside the venue, allowed the colors to pop in harmony. We brought in colors of the jewel tone but yet not forgetting the rustic feel of the venue by incorporating a natural wooden arch that was specifically built by our team for this styled shoot. 

Styling the couple

Alex and Jose are a real married couple and when we first met them, we knew they would be the perfect fit. We learned how they came together and the obstacles that they had to overcome, we realized once again that love has no boundaries. We brought in their fun and colorful personalities into this styled shoot by utilizing rich colors of the jewel tone in every detail. We wanted to ensure there is a touch of masculinity for our couple so we made nail copper easels that held black and white escort cards. Clear plates with hand written love quotes were placed on top of navy velvet hexagon placemats.

The Details

We have been following Billye on social media for a while because we love her colorful & vibrant work. We immediately reached out to Billye without hesitation and we were ecstatic when she agreed to be part of this collaboration as we knew Billye could capture a jewel tone wedding in its true color.

Betty, our cake designer, delivered an amazing cake, capturing our jewel tone wedding theme but incorporating masculinity for our couple.

What more can I say about super talented Jackie? She is a super talented and creative calligrapher. She told us this collaboration was a unique challenge but yet fun experience since she needed to work with many different colors, unlike the usual color that she normally works.
