From Kate Murtaugh Events & Design: Briar Barn Inn, our gorgeous venue, is a brand-new post-and-beam barn in a quaint New England town just 30 minutes north of Boston. Between the iron chandeliers hung across the high raw pine ceilings of the open space, reclaimed wood beams, sliding barn doors and the beautiful pastoral grounds, the property provides the quintessential New England backdrop and prelude to the spring wedding season.
To complete this look and scene, Flair Boston provided an ethereally feminine dress from Willowby by Watters. The dress featured an illusion neckline, bodice and back with embroidered lace florals, velvet ribbon tied at the waist and a billowy skirt made from layers of soft ivory tulle. The bride wore her “something blue" as a pair of blue garden inspired heels by Ted Baker. Styles by Callie and Makeup by Sarah Lord complemented the look with a natural makeup look and soft updo. The groom’s suit was tailored by Blank Label.
Kate Murtaugh Events & Design styled a custom-made oval farm table in clay candlesticks in varying shades of cream and ivory, matte gold straight edged Arezzo flatware, matte china and pale blue linen napkins. Beach Plum Floral Design complemented the design by creating a textural bouquet, a centerpiece trio and ceremony floral arbor with a focus on color, depth and movement incorporating Japanese Butterfly Ranunculus, Garden Roses, Anemones, Tulips, preserved Bunny Tails and locally grown pampas grass. Gateway Productions framed the barn with sweeping white drapery with bistro lights and New England Loom outfitted the ceremony space with an antique, imported pale blue and ivory Turkish rug.
The soft and elegant stationery featured an invitation suite, menu card, boutonnieres tags, ceremony linen sign and silk ribbon escort card display and was designed, and hand lettered by Ridgely Calligraphy. The entire suite showcased a blend of loose calligraphy script and modern serif and beautifully handcrafted paper with hand torn edges. The simplicity of the square tiered cake by Silver Whisk Cake Shop showcased a pale blue watercolor buttercream texture with delicately laid textured florals.
