Get ready for one hell of a party! This modern meets disco nouveau wedding shoot designed by Rock & Stone Weddings is fresh and fun at The 101 in downtown Seattle. They transformed the venue from a blank slate into the party of the year with tropical leaves, modern signage, and one fashion-forward couple. Seriously, we can’t get enough of the bride's hand-beaded jumpsuit from Varca Bridal that’s paired with a gorgeous tulle coat instead of a traditional veil.
Neon signs, painted florals, and large balloons are just some of the latest trends you’ll see pulled together to create this fun-filled design and the takeaway? Don’t be afraid to step outside the norm for something more personal + unique, brides! Catch all the highlights below, and grab a peep at the full gallery for every last photo from Kendra K. From Rock & Stone Weddings: Our styled shoot took place at The 101 in Downtown Seattle. We've long been obsessed with this industrial blank canvas space and wanted to use it as the backdrop for some modern wedding inspo, combining some of our favorite trends right now, spray-painted florals, neon signs, balloons, and disco! We wanted to showcase something really fun and bold and show couples that your wedding day can be stylish and feel like one hell of a party!
Our bride's look was courtesy of Varca Bridal and part of her Disco Monarchy range so truly a perfect fit for this concept! The hand-beaded jumpsuit is the very definition of 'Modern Bride' and the tulle coat added maximum drama.. are bridal coats the new veils?! We certainly wouldn't be mad about it!
Seattle Beauty Boss created the perfect hair and makeup, a 2020 nod to the disco looks of the 70s and 80s with tight curls and colored eye make up.
For the tablescape, we wanted to work with the venue's existing rental inventory. We find that couples are so accustomed to seeing styled shoots with beautiful custom furniture that they often shudder at the idea of using banquet tables and linens and think that modern has to mean investing in wooden tables. We beg to differ! Linens are making a comeback in our opinion and we love how they can add a little upscale elegant touch but still look modern and edgy when combined with the right accessories. The matte dinnerware and black flatware from Cort, acrylic details and bold florals created the perfect juxtaposition.
One of our favorite ways to personalize decor and signage is with song lyrics that are meaningful to our couples and we looked for ways to showcase this with acrylic signage in the lounge/photo booth set up, stationery, and on the cake stand. Speaking of cake, Lady Grey blew our minds with this futuristic creation!
Villanelle Floral created the most stunning florals, using blue, orange and silver spray paint to create bold statements, and fusing them with lush tropical greenery and statement flowers like orchids and King Protea.
Last, but definitely not least, our third model, the cutest pup named Fiona stole everyone's hearts and certainly the show!
We partnered with Rock & Stone Weddings to share about their amazing custom watercolors. As always, thank you for supporting our sponsors!
