From NK Bride: Inspired by the Brooklyn artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, this wedding event celebrates pride, love, and expression. This same sex couple embraces the vibrant colors and strokes of Basquiat in every detail, from the reds, purples, and blues of their flower arrangements and decour, to their fashion forward bridal wear. Located just over the Queen's Bridge, the venue’s industrial backdrop gives reference to the urban influence seen in Basquiat’s work. In the true spirit of New York, a mixture of culture, art, and style commemorates love.
The stunning decor at this shoot was the excellent work of Scarlett Expressions very own Vennissa. She was inspired by her love for Basquiat’s introspective nature, and social commentary. The painting featured on the venue wall was selected as a portrait of Basquiat that utilized his artistic techniques. The tablescape itself was inspired by these techniques, layering bold colors and textures in a way that come together to create an appealing work of art. The table rentals, from Lovely Luxe Rentals, compliment these ideas with the bold blacks, and the depth of texture created by the velvet linens. Elegant tables and chairs from Heavenly Event Rentals silently support the chic aesthetic of the venue.
The beautiful cake, by It’s Delicious Desserts, stood alone as a piece of art. It complemented the colors of our florals, and the brushstroke technique created the layered texture that inspired the decor. This event was made extra special by the sweet moments brought by Puff Delights. Their cotton candy machine was an extra special touch that felt fun and modern for our special brides. An extra special thanks to the wedding officiant from Once Upon a Vow. To top it all our photos are accompanied by a stunning video produced by Atomic Tangerine to the beat of the famous “The Message is Love” by MFSB.
