Who doesn’t love a great vintage inspired wedding? Add in a little modern flair, and some bold patterned designs and voila … modern antiquity is born.
There has been an increasing demand to compliment a bride’s soft and romantic vintage style with her groom’s bold and modern approach to their wedding design. William Parkinson Events and an amazing team of vendors came up with the perfect visual response for that demand. For our ceremony space, the beautiful exposed brick in the venue was accentuated yet softened by the lighting and drapery provided by Shindig Lighting. To help bring a bit of modern flair to the space, we replaced traditional ceremony chairs with tufted leather lounge furniture, also provided by Shindig Lighting, that we accented with mismatched jeweled and patterned pillows provided by Nuage Designs. Rounding out our ceremony design were custom programs created by Social Alchemy that incorporated a clean and crisp layout complimented with a bold chain accent carried throughout the paper story for the day. We are absolutely in love with the unique approach used for the escort card display! A faux deer head with painted metallic gold antlers was used to display our escort cards created by Social Alchemy.
Our tablescape originated with the incredibly unique and super modern bubble legged reception table provided by Luxe Event Rentals. We incorporated some bold color contrast by using bright gold chargers lined with teal rimmed china provided by Borrowed, A Vintage Inspired Company. Our centerpiece design consisted of several smaller floral arrangements created by Flowers & Flowers that were complimented with antique candle holders. This combination helped soften the otherwise modern design and created a soft and romantic reception table for our bride and groom to enjoy.
Our friends over at Lovely Cakes went above and beyond the call of duty and provided us with some delicious treats for our dessert table. The highlight of our dessert display were three cakes; two of which individually represent our modern and vintage inspiration, and a third which ties the two themes together through its bold use of color and mix matched damask and striped pattern.
