Imagine pastel mountains in the distance as you get ready in your bridal suite, then taking a moment alone with your soon-to-be husband or wife to stroll through the ancient Grecian streets. You recite your vows in front of your closest family and friends, then together you all dine under the stars in a stunning open-air feast just for you. It may sound like something out of a fairytale, but this castle by the sea is very much a reality and everything you see here in this styled shoot is totally doable for your destination wedding!
Happy Events wanted to create a timeless wedding shoot inspired by the beauty of Greece, and they did just that! A medieval castle, a timeless place, a timeless romance, the couple exuding both classic beauty and class could have come out of Downton Abbey, or The Great Gatsby. She is a veritable princess, he is an iconic gentleman. And there’s love in the air, a bond that transcends time. Sofia Vamvouni, the head planner of Happy Events, complemented the aristocratic character of Kinsterna, the wedding table exuded old-world elegance and finesse, with antique candelabras and adorable vintage glassware and tableware, while the stunning floral arrangements from the super talented Jim Labraco provided a splash of delight.
Paying tribute to local cuisine, there was the traditional Tsaiti pie, a delicious concoction of greens and herbs, created by the hotel’s chef, Mr. Giorgos Hapsas, and served with the Kinsterna Hotel's signature wine, which is produced at the hotel’s vineyards from local wine varieties. And for a touch of the sweet life, there were traditional local almond desserts by Charamis Cakeshop.
The bride looked positively radiant in her wedding dress by Mairi Mparola, and beautiful jewelry and accessories by Ilias Lalaounis and Iordanis Jewelry. The groom was handsome and James-Bond dapper in a suit by Tsitsigias. The couple strolled through the winding cobblestone alleys of the castle, embraced in front of the blue sea, laughed with a puppy, and there was even a white horse to complete the Prince Charming fantasy!
