With Mexico literally right there for most of us in the States we can get a little spoiled. But what does the rest of the world, and some of our more northern/eastern US friends do when the urge to Fiesta hits them? Answer: They pull out all the stops, and man, Taco 'bout a party!
Anna and Lisa of Anna-Maria Langer Fotografie and Von Anfang Bis Immer, respectively are two best friends in Germany who combined their loves of bright colors, and tacos into gorgeous shoot centered around the love between historic artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera! Don't a miss a moment, there's a full gallery with all the photos from this fabulous Fiesta in Germany too.
This shoot was inspired by artists such as Frida Kahlo or Diego Rivera, the team wanted to combine artistic elements with easy Do-It-Yourselfs. "We really wanted to show an alternative to the current pastel-trend" explains Lisa. That's why the shoot took place in a rustic cabin on a beautiful field in the middle of nowhere.
We are still amazed by how much can be achieved when working as a team. That’s why we created different little sets on this shoot: the cabin with a dinner table as well as a taco and water bar. Our turn-of-the-century chariot served as a tequila bar and party area. Also we wanted to show fun things to do with your guests, such as a Pinata and different postcards to send to the happy couple.
Ideally underlining the rustic yet playful atmosphere we wanted to create. The furniture from "NimmPlatz" provided beautiful elements to make our vision come to life. From vintage chairs to an old drawer, which was used as a "Water Bar", "NimmPlatz" furniture made it possible to create a set that felt like a real wedding was taking place.
Our wooden swing by Aluterra was used as a welcome sign to greet arriving guests. All the stationery elements were designed by Fawntastique. The design duo designed matching wedding stationery with bright geometric prints and a little donkey served as a logo for the shoot's design.
Cake and cookies were designed by Pennycakes and co-ordinated by Fawntastique – the cake and cookies do show the same geometric print as the wedding stationery does.
We knew right from the start that flowers would be especially important. Our vendor "Stielecht Floristik" did an amazing job arranging flowers in pink, orange and yellow. These bright arrangements could be found on the table as well as the bridal bouquet and flower wreath.
Our bride wore a dress from Noni Mode, paired with a bright red belt. Her flower crown and gladitator sandals made her look complete. For her bridesmaids we really wanted to show, that bridesmaid’s dresses don’t always have to match. That’s why we chose a bright red and pink dress – so the friends do match the general color scheme of this shoot, but can still show their personalities and character. Our beautiful bridal party was styled (hair & make-up) by Dagmar Schwarz and Maya Meurer.
No wedding is complete without the right decoration, right? The amazing Pomballon supported us in the search for the perfect Mexican Wedding decorations. Wooden shelfs arranged with different types of cacti created the summery flair we wanted to achieve. Also the authentic Mexican elements by Cosita Bonita were an awesome addition to our shoot’s design.
