While the Mediterranean island of Ibiza is well known for its gorgeous coastline for weddings, Masha Kart Photography along with a team of local vendors headed inland to showcase the islands dreamy countryside that is often overlooked with this romantic farm-to-table shoot.

As planners & photographers based on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza, a coastal backdrop is a prerequisite for many of our client’s weddings. However, in contrast, Ibiza has a beautiful rural side, one that has remained in the shadow of its coastal sister until only recently. The newer generation of Ibicenco business owners are striving to revive traditional rural practices, raise environmental awareness and celebrate local produce, and from this, stems the rise of the agricultural hotel.
These hotels are often set in beautifully refurbished old Spanish ‘fincas’, nestled away in the heart of the island countryside, and incorporate fruit and vegetables, or even livestock, produced organically on their own land, into both their aesthetics and menus. We have noticed that increasingly, our clients are seeking the reflection of their dietary and lifestyle choices in their wedding venue and as a result, the agricultural hotel is rising in popularity. We wanted to capture this idea in our styled shoot, whilst illustrating that a rural wedding can also be luxurious and elegant.
We chose the beautiful Terra Masia as the location for our shoot as we felt that its 54 hectares of rural bliss, coupled with their organic ethos and synergy with other local farmers and fisherman, perfectly complemented the idea we wished to capture. Its grounds provided a wonderful rustic contrast to the feeling of opulence and abundance we wanted to create. The models were able to interact with the farm animals whilst the dense lemon trees provided an iconic Ibicenco backdrop for the dinner table.
We used a color palette of pale pink, dusky pinks with touches of ivory and burgundy, accented with antique gold for sumptuousness and elegance. The flowing foliage and natural shapes complimented the rural backdrop and the inclusion of dark fruits typical to the island, such as pomegranates and grapes, evoke the idea of simple Ibicenco abundance.
