Picture this: A colorful hot air balloon, one couple in love, and a completely gorgeous day. All of this adds up to love is in the air and everywhere. All dreamed up by one of the most on trend wedding event stylists - Southern Posies.
As you will see, love is (literally) in the air and everywhere in this over the top darling shoot. No dream, no matter small or large, is crazy or unattainable, even spending part of your wedding day in a hot air balloon! Be inspired to take flight when you peek at the full gallery here, beautifully captured by Hello Gorgeous Photography.
Guests were delivered white boxes which were filled with a small balloon and precious watercolor save the dates. The watercolor design was carried over into the invitation suite and a detailed map with a hot air balloon directed guests to the location. Programs included a hand drawing of the chapel and frou frou chic ribbon adorned the side. Menus and place cards were placed at each place setting along with monogrammed coasters. P.S. The 4 legged cutie in this picture is my sweet dog, Dolly. Loose ribbon streamers formed her leash and collar and yes, she got plenty of doughnuts after the shoot for being on her best behavior.
I wanted to incorporate a mixture of colors but not make it too busy or overwhelming. A coral, salmon color was my main focus with hints of periwinkle blues, light pinks, pastel yellows and golds. Stripes (to mimic the stripes on the balloon) and wood (to mimic the basket of the balloon) were textures used throughout the shoot. A mixture of flowers and foliages were used in the tablescape and bouquet. The tablescape was set underneath a sea of ribbons giving pretty pops of color overhead. Accents of gold were seen in the candelabra's, plate, flatware and vase. Guests had small placecard vases with tiny blooms at each setting.
When playing with a theme and style, I love to tie in details that fit uniquely with the theme. Doughnuts and doughnut holes were chosen for the 'grooms cake' because you guessed it, they are round like balloons plus we just love them. Guests were able to add their own toppings from sprinkles and sugar to Nutella, fruity pebbles, and chocolate syrup. The brides cake adorned with hot air balloons and a ribbon topper sat in the center while gold 'LOVE' balloons filled the backdrop and set the scene for 'Love is in the Air'.
I wanted something feminine and whimsical. 'The Forest' by Lela Rose (one of my favorite designers) not only had the perfect name but also had the sweet and beautiful shape I had envisioned. Soft and subdued makeup with her hair loosely up showed off the unique neckline and sheer back detailing. White cotton pants by Peter Millar, a purple and white striped shirt by David Donahue and bowtie by High Cotton fit the bill for his classic, yet casual and preppy look. To add a little more formality to his attire we think a navy sports jacket would be the perfect touch!
