City weddings definitely have a vibe that's all their own, but millions of people get married in cities each year and the standard big city wedding isn't one size fits all. What if you've always dreamed of a whimsical floral affair but you can't find a city garden that fits your venue budget? Make your own. While green space in major metropolises may be limited, there is plenty of loft space to go around. We know, when you think of lofts, you think of big, gray, industrial warehouses that would be perfect for an edgy wedding, but that's not what you're going for–hear us out. Think of that loft as a big blank space that you can turn into the wedding of your dreams. Plus, most lofts have incredible natural light so it's kind of like being outdoors, but better because it's climate-controlled! But don't take our word for it...check out this romantic inspiration shoot where this Canadian team turned an open loft space into a perfectly manicured floral wonderland with a whimsical tablescape fit for Alice herself.
Petals and Pearls wanted to show that even a small wedding can be extravagant, that couples shouldn't downsize their dreams just because they've had to downsize their guest list. Preto Loft Studio is a modern loft space with immense windows that simply fill the space with the most gorgeous natural light. These perfectly framed photos by Purple Tree Photography make the ceiling of this space completely disappear giving the whole shoot an endless fairytale feel and Cinematic Studios was there to get it all on video. There are vines growing up the windows, roses hanging from the ceiling and beautiful bouquets decorating every inch of the table–Coco By Covers Couture really outdid themselves with these floral arrangements and installations! You can see even more of these beautiful photos in the full gallery. Keep reading to hear more from Wassal Seddiqi of Petals and Pearls.
Featuring romantic blush florals juxtaposed with the contemporary feel of a New York City loft-style setting, we created this inspiration shoot in the Solarium room at the Preto Loft Studio. With the uncertainty of planning that special day in the current pandemic climate, we wanted to share that love is the only essential element when it comes to planning a wedding, and with it, though the wedding may not be grand in size, it can be grand in the beautiful details. From gorgeous, over-the-top ensembles to sleek and effortless gowns, each bridal look can carry you from an intimate ceremony to dining in style.
The mixing of textures, shapes, patterns, and dimensions was an important part of this editorial. The cake features soft tones and effortless blooms cascading down an unexpected shaped cake, created by the talented international cake artist, Lima Cakes. The piercing hair and makeup by Jen Evoy Makeup Studio coupled with the unique gowns from Toujours Bridal tied the look together impeccably. Each dancing flower cascading down the tablescape and the hanging floral shades, designed by the talented team at Coco By Covers Couture, complemented the perfect shades of blush linen, stemware, and neutral tabletop rentals provided by Simply Beautiful Decor. Without a doubt, the pretty details in the romantic wedding invitation suite and the subtle place cards on sheer vellum by Pink Peony Press were the finishing touches to this magnificent design, captured perfectly by Purple Tree Photography. It is with each cascading flower, that we are reminded, love is indefinitely in bloom.
