From Stewart-Hunter Photography:The inspiration for this shoot came from our love of an intimate, yet whimsical backyard affair. Everything from the low-sitting, Kentucky barn wood floor table, to the collection of comfy pillows laid upon a woven sea grass mat, allowed for the ambiance to come to life at our local venue, MapleCrest; a hidden gem amongst Louisville, KY.
The décor and details were chosen to correlate as an underlying theme stemmed from the original version of the song “Sea of Love” by Phil Phillips. This charismatic love song, claimed as their own by our bride and groom, encouraged the different shades of the sea in our palette: baby blue, turquoise, teal, aqua, grey, lavender, and an added touch of silver.
Perhaps the sweetest touch to our shoot was the hand-drawn invitations, made by the incredibly talented Bekah Wertz. These invitations were custom made for our bride’s whimsical affair with added strokes of watercolor from our chosen palette.
Every detail down to the custom envelope lining, a snippet from a map of the sea, perfectly bound together all of the distinct elements of our shoot. To top it all off, our amazing calligrapher, Heather Brock of Marcardin Calligraphy, fashioned an exquisite custom font for the addressing of our envelopes that was to-die-for.
