You are and have always been wid and free your whole life, the same is true with how you fell in love. So when celebrating your union, shouldn't the same be true about your wedding day? This next heartwarming photo shoot was built around a fictitious couple (but a couple we feel like we've known) that met on a hiking trail. Their love story guided them to tie-the-knot in the mountains in an intimate and candid affair.

The challenge we gave ourselves for this shoot was to create adventurous elopement inspiration that reflects the simple elegance of the blue ridge mountains and the laid-back nature of those who live there. To make our concept even richer we created a backstory for our couple.
Sarah grew up in North Carolina and spent her childhood running wild through the forests and fields of the mountains. This sparked her love for hiking and everything outdoors. Years later, when she was backpacking the Continental Divide in Colorado with her sister they ran into James a friend from college. Their two groups teamed up and went the rest of the trip together, giving Sarah and James time to create a friendship and fall in love. James moved to North Carolina to pursue Sarah and they have been inseparable ever since.
It was a no-brainer that when this laidback and adventurous couple planned their wedding they decided to have an intimate elopement out in nature where their love began.
Since our make-believe couple wanted a simple wedding we kept it that way as well with just a dress, florals, an intimate picnic to celebrate, and the announcement they would send out to friends and family. Both dress, flowers, and calligraphy were chosen and crafted to reflect the simple wild beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
