Inspired by a sculptor's studio, this minimalist styled shoot is the perfect elopement inspiration for a modern couple. While it is simple in its design, it's certainly not lacking in elegance. We love the bride's chic jumpsuit and the groom's laid-back sneakers paired with his tailored linen suit–the best part about both of these ensembles is that they can absolutely be worn again. While the design and fashion are certainly worth mentioning, we simply have to talk about the "rock cake" and the hammer and chisel cake cutting. This cake by A Cake Story looked so much like a rock sculpture that we had to do a double-take!
Nicole Please Weddings designed this styled shoot to show couples how to incorporate pieces of their personality into their wedding ceremony, even if they've chosen to elope. They selected Artist Atelier, a real artist's studio, to showcase the couple's love of art. Awina created these gorgeous floral arrangements to reflect the vibe of the coastal village where the shoot took place. Kuenzli Photography also incorporated the artsy feeling into these photos in the framing and the subjects. Under the direction and planning of Nicole Froelich from Nicole Please Weddings, the stylistic genius of Awina, power photography duo, Kuenzli Photography and Gomango Videography and A Cake Story, the dream team reunites yet again to bring another unique and inspiring styled shoot. The source of inspiration for this intimate wedding is a sculptor's studio nestled in a quintessential fishing village along the Portuguese coastline. With this maritime backdrop, we find ourselves in a stone carvers studio surrounded by his works of art. The sensitive sculptor wears an off-white custom-made suit by Eniline Switzerland and his vivacious bride wears a white pantsuit from Two Souls Bridal. Unconventional, bold, and artistic couples looking for norm-breaking ideas to celebrate their nuptials will not only find inspiration from this Portuguese-inspired styled shoot but also see how using themes from their love story can render an incredibly personal and memorable celebration.
With a color palette of soft shades of sand, grey, and sage, Martina and Rebea from Awina created a stunning flower chandelier with dried lotus leaves, lisianthus, white bougainvillea, and amaranthus. To accentuate the Portuguese maritime vibe, they added large basket lamps and fishing nets to the floral installations. For the table setting, they continued the maritime effect with matching coasters and plate settings from Tauta Home. Cake designer Olivia from A Cake Story drew inspiration from the sculptors' stone works of art and created a deconstructed stone wedding cake. For the cake cutting ceremony, the couple broke the status quo by using a hammer and chisel to smash through a stone-like cake.
