Inspired by the enchanting underwater landscape that lives just beyond our reach, this shoot is giving us mermaid vibes in the best possible way and not just because of the stunning lace mermaid gown. From a shimmering barely-there reception look to pearl-encrusted pumps, this team thought of every detail. Despite the clear overall theme, they didn't take the under the sea idea too far, for example, the white capiz shell escort cards are a beautiful way to incorporate the theme without being cliché. Even the florals resemble underwater foliage and seem to defy gravity.
District 28 is a perfect blank-slate venue that can easily be transformed to meet all of your wildest wedding dreams. Iris Li designed this dreamy inspiration shoot and Blush And Bloom created all of the lovely florals that you'll see throughout. The light and shadows in these photos by Artiese Studios give the shoot an underwater feel. SDE Weddings was also there to capture the entire shoot on video. A world full of beauty lies beneath the waves with elements both delicate and ethereal, yet dark and unknown. This styled shoot celebrates the colors, shapes, and textures in this stunning, underwater realm. Drawing inspiration from coral reefs, kelp, and sea urchins, we dreamed up a muted color palette with shades of sand accented by soft tones of green, purple, and blue. The stationery suite created by Statue Rue took inspiration from the intricate leaf-like lobes found on sea dragons. Vellum was also incorporated playing homage to the translucent creatures in the depths of the ocean.
A custom seating chart by Animalau featured beautifully calligraphed capiz shells, each with its own natural shape. Blush And Bloom built a large-scale floral installation inspired by the shape and colors of coral reefs to provide a stunning focal point to the tablescape, which included a lot of natural elements inspired by the ocean and movement of the waves. The white oak wood table was decorated with billowy textiles, coral-inspired vessels, untamed florals, mismatched shells, and mushroom coral. The cake, designed by Cakelaine, was inspired by the texture of a coral reef. Oyster shells were incorporated along with light, translucent details made out of rice paper to resemble sea plants. The dresses were also inspired by the elegance of the ocean: one sheer with crystals throughout, the other a mermaid silhouette paired with a scattered crystal veil mimicking water droplets from the sea.
