This girl had an eye for details. Trying on over 50 dresses and shopping in New York she finally landed on a cathedral length dramatic Hayley Paige gown from Now & Forever Bridal. This was the only time I could think that I would be wearing such a lavish gown and twirl around like a princess. Twelve bustles later this gown turned into a beautiful piece to the couples first traditional waltz dance. With only three lessons that Cameron set up for us, we turned into dancing machines. We had the best time practicing and the best time performing it at our wedding. The pictures say it all. The groom's custom-made suit was the perfect match next to his bride. With a charcoal silk suit and vest, his dapper look was a perfect standout next to his groomsmen in navy.
Finding a place and picking a date was the first hurdle. We had no intentions of a rustic wedding but once we found this hidden gem we couldn’t pass it up. With this rustic elegant wedding venue, we had to book 2 years out waiting for the perfect date. A Fall wedding was a perfect match for us considering the summers in Texas are way too hot and we couldn’t pass up the beautiful Fall weather and colors. We also landed on a date that we shared with our grandparents' wedding anniversary, Nov 3rd. That’s a perfect heirloom. Its safe to say it was well worth the wait.
Top of our priority list was a great venue. Somewhere that did not need much decorating and spoke for itself and was diverse. We wanted a venue that was so simply breathtaking and elegant but could also be casual and comfortable for all guest to enjoy at the same time. So we picked a place called Big Sky Barn, this was in an area of town we spent a lot of time growing up around. This venue had everything from a beautiful chapel, a magical chandelier lite bridge, fireplace reception hall and ample outdoor space for peace, privacy and fun games.
The food we also picked was something we know everyone would enjoy! Who doesn’t like fajitas and Mexican street corn? Cameron and I absolutely love Mexican food and being from the south we have it on almost every corner. so we wanted to bring what we love to the people we love.
The couples favorite colors were green and blue, which didn’t make it hard for the couple to settle on green earth tones, slate blues, and ivory florals. I wanted the effortless look of natural loose garden florals with anemones everywhere! What else to accent better against the blues of the suits and bridesmaid dresses?
