How To Modernize Your Boho Summer Wedding

Elegant wedding place setting with name card James

Move over circles and squares the new geometric fav this year is the triangle! This unique shape brings a fun modern vibe to any event or decor item, so when Alexes Lauren Photography and 9 Twenty Eight Events wanted to bring a fresh take to a boho summer wedding they brought this three-pointed element to the table... literally.

Keep scrolling to see what we mean (hint: check out the sweetheart table built by  New + Nostalgic rentals) and don't miss a single triangle themed detail, thanks to the full gallery waiting for you below.

The Inspiration

When Alexes Lauren Photography and I first started planning this styled shoot, we knew we wanted to use an angular shape in multiple ways. Luckily, New + Nostalgic Rentals was looking to add to their inventory and were willing to build us a few custom items. We started with the triangle arch, the Delta- A symbol of change, and ran with it for our overall theme. We worked with N + N on designing a triangle sweetheart table, which we had never seen before.

The Location

The Condor’s Nest Ranch was gracious enough to allow us to shoot on their beautiful property. I wanted to add some bright colors to the mountain-esque space, and pops of blue, like the plush velvet ottoman in the lounge.

Famished brought the most gorgeous (and scrumptious!) charcuterie, and the various foods looked so pretty on the ottoman.

The Floral & Decor

I gave Societe Fine Flowers our overall color palette, and they did not disappoint. They created stunning floral arrangements with various shades of pinks and hints of orange.

We continued the pops of blue with the patterned napkins (also from Societe), tapered candles, and dinner plates. Abbey Party Rentals has triangle shaped salad plates, which were the perfect addition. Loren of Four Things Paper created a custom invitation suite, with the cutest little cactus design, and obtuse leather place cards at each setting.

The Style

I chose a unique, two-toned gown for the bride, which showed off her curves perfectly. I wanted to have a little fun with the groom, as he wasn’t afraid of color. I chose a bright blue suit from Generation Tux, and gave him a cool guitar tie clip. He rocked the overall look! No pun intended. Each and every vendor brought their own unique style to this shoot, and it was truly stunning.
