Bright and airy, those were the two words on Katie's mind when designing these garden ideas. As an event designer for RW Events she wanted to challenge the typical dark and gloomy wine cellar ideas of wine. Fast forward to this gorgeous day, centered completely around the tasty looking white wine sangria served. Read on to hear some helpful tips on how to make a sangria bar and of course, see more fabulous shots captured by Amalie Orrange Photography in the full gallery here.
Ingredients
1 750-ml bottle dry white wine
1 1/2 cups Essensia (orange Muscat, a sweet dessert wine)
1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries
1 cup peach liqueur
3 peaches, each cut into 12 slices
1 large orange, cut crosswise into 6 slices
1 large lemon, cut crosswise into 6 slices
1/4 cup strawberry syrup (optional)
3 to 4 cups ice cubes Directions Mix white wine, Essensia, strawberries, peach liqueur, peaches, orange slices, lemon slices, and strawberry syrup in large pitcher, smashing citrus slices slightly. Let stand at room temperature at least 2 hours or chill up to 4 hours. Serve sangria over ice.
I love using wood in any way possible, and was trying to think of how to incorporate it in the shoot. I didn’t want to just paint the wood because then you lose the grain pattern (and that’s the best part about wood!) I decided to wash the pieces in a light blue hue.
1. Apply a small amount of paint brushed onto the wood.
2. While the paint is still wet, wipe it off with a damp rag. (Repeat until you acquire the desired shade.)
3. Once dry, add the calligraphy with a gold paint pen.
