From LLG Events, the team that dreamt up this gorgeous royal wedding inspiration:
We first thought about a Royal Wedding concept, we immediately wondered how we could make this different. So, we decided to throw a Royal Wedding photoshoot here in the United States. From our initial design meeting with Ceci New York and Tantawan Bloom, we started thinking of Royal colors and predictions of what could be the next trendsetting, timeless designs of 2018.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be defining bridal fashion and design trends for the next generation of couples. To begin our inspiration for the shoot, we looked back at the Royal Family bloodline, researching their attire, jewels, and traditions. We also began researching Meghan and noticed her love for peonies. We knew this had to be a major focus in the floral design. Tantawan Bloom included fuschia orchids, white cherry blossoms, and a gold tree structure along with blush and ivory roses.
We continued to incorporate rich colors, such as ultraviolet, Pantone’s color of the year, and then added muted whites, bronze, and gold. Incorporating black as an accent color was our modern approach to the design. We added this to the black lacquer boxes of custom cake tins, the outer envelopes of the invitations, the menus, and throughout the place cards.
We kept the invitation classic, mimicking the style Prince William and Kate used for their wedding.
The cake, designed by Ron Ben Israel, incorporated black and gold, which carried over from the florals and stationery to the place settings.
We wanted to leave some traditional elements in the shoot, which is why we chose Lotte New York Palace Hotel. We tried to find a setting that mimicked the interior opulence of Windsor Castle and the classic elegance that England is known for.
As we could not recreate Harry’s military uniform, we chose a classic custom-made morning suit provided by Alton Lane. For the bride, we went for an elegant lace dress designed by Romona Keveza. It covered the model’s shoulders and had a detachable train with a deep backline, which would complement Meghan’s signature hairstyle perfectly.
For the reception dress, we went with Dennis Basso’s creation of soft pink and tons of sparkle. The dresses were sourced and prepared by The Stylish Bride, and we would recommend every bride to have their own personal stylist on the wedding day!
