The Location

Sayulita, an eclectic surf town along the west coast of Mexico, is a prime destination for couples to celebrate their love story. Featured in many magazines, blogs, and pinned countless times on Pinterest, Sayulita has become known for its boho beachy style, and fun fiesta vibed weddings.

Locally based vendors Flora Amor, Dekker Photography, and Sunset Soiree teamed up to design a wild yet regal elopement to showcase a whole new side of Sayulita - a style that is glamorous, lush and luxurious. With this wedding, the vendors designed it to be intimate yet grand and chose two brides to reflect the diverse couples getting married in Sayulita.

The Brides

With two brides, stylist, Ella of Ella Leyva, was able to present two contemporary bridal looks that would appeal to both straight and gay brides. One model rocked a femininely modern style faux hawk with a more regal gown, and the second model had a more traditional chignon paired with a trendy lace jumpsuit. Adorned with refined, timeless jewelry from Sayulita Sol, the brides sparkled in truly stunning style.

The Florals

Inspired by stepping away from the traditional handheld bouquet, Flora Amor designed the florals as wearable art, a compliment to the brides’ beauty and bringing a new style of wedding florals to Sayulita. Draping one bride in a botanical floral shrug, Flora Amor exquisitely fashioned the piece using fresh ranunculus, roses, eryngium, and orchids.

The second bride wore a modern adaptation of a floral crown fit for a queen, adorned with blooms to compliment her partner. On her arm was a modern luxe arm cuff in a similar palette, and her shoes were adorned with fresh foliage and blooms to complete the ensemble. Each piece was designed as an alternative to the traditional bouquet and boutonnière.

The Paper

Marizette Paperie used unconventional materials like acrylic, moss, vellum paper, and gold mirrored cardstock to create a unique invitation suite that complimented the vision of the shoot. The mix of materials, textures, and dimensions came together in a creative design that matched the theme of the day.

The Limo

Adding an old world glam element, the vendors lucked out on hiring the vintage limo to escort the brides to their destination at Villa Pelicanos. In true Pueblo Magico style, Dekker Photography and Sunset Soiree happened upon the limo while driving to set up the shoot earlier that day. Everything fell into place within hours and the limo offered a one of a kind experience for the brides to step out like royalty.

The Cocktail Hour

Regally set, the cocktail area featured plush green velvet furniture and was accented by glass and gold tables, from Unique Rentals, for the queen brides to sip their rosé while nibbling on delicious meats and cheeses prepared by Bocadito Catering.

The Table

Sunset Soiree designed the tablescape to feature a simple rustic wooden table adorned with delicate gold-rimmed stemware, gold beaded plates, elegant cutlery and jewel tones napkins, all provided by Unique Rentals and Trendy. Florals from Flora Amor spilled from an antique compote vase, ripe and juicy fruit of rich color delicately placed throughout. Seated on the plush green modified settee, the brides dined under the glow of candlelight and the ethereal supermoon.

The Ceremony

Walking up the cobblestone steps, the brides entered the ceremonial space lit by hundreds of flickering candles and twinkling fairy lights. The featured aisle of glamorous gold sequins and the old world charm of the wooden doors were the perfect pairing for the couple to stand amidst and exchange their vows. The sun had set, the sky darkened, and the jungle surrounding them was illuminated by the golden full moon.
