We developed the concept of a Fiji inspired shoot, which we affectionately named South Seas Surrender, along with designer Kristen Johnson, from A Girl and Her Glitter. The concept was to highlight the vivid colors and tropical atmosphere of a fashion inspired wedding. Our "bride" wore a relaxed gown from resort designer Lela Rose provided by Solutions Bridal, and then switched to 2 bright dresses. Hair and makeup opted for a relaxed beachy wave with a salty texture and bronzed skin and eyes.
Adding to the overall style was a beautiful stationery suit with laser-cut wood escort-card names, vinyl hand-painted palm decals as aisle runners, and an incredible assortment of floral - from a tropical bouquet and centerpiece, bar accent and an amazing altar piece with "Hanging Sexys" (real name of the flower!)
We brought in non-traditional elements, like multiple cakes in the flavors Grand Marnier and Orange Buttercream, Almond Raspberry and Amaretto; a fruit bar and flamingo cookies.
Our drink bar from Events on the Loose featured a retro blender and copper mules, and a mimosa bar (with cleverly named drinks: Pineapple of my eye, Peach Please, and our favorite - Rico Guava).
We're probably the most excited about the video - which videographer Jeffrey Stoner absolutely nailed! A cinematic voice-over gave our shoot the final touch of life that we were looking for.
