A rustic barn is a perfect place for all your intergalactic wedding dreams to come true! With big skies and limited light sources you will be blown away by all the stars that twinkle above you on your wedding night... but what about your wedding day? Moody Blue Events partnered with us to show you just how to bring the star-spangled heavens into your wedding decor and we are absolutely in love with the result!
There are plenty more images from Kenny Kerns Photography in the full gallery below, so don't forget to pop on over there once you have seen the rest of this post!
I have always had a love for the moon. It might be because I am a night owl and the moon is my guiding light. My creative energy flows at odd hours of the night and I’ve always had an affinity to the darkness. I also have a love of all things vintage and old so I combined those two loves and asked my friends at Old Cottonwood (a company that restores old things to make them new again) to make me a moon backdrop from something old. After a bit of brainstorming on their end, they decided that old tin ceiling tiles would add some texture and patterns and with that the backdrop was created!
I created the color scheme around the galaxy skirt from Sweet Caroline Styles. The flowers from Annalise the Amaranth included every color we could find in the skirt and then we included some butter yellow and deep magenta as well! That skirt popped against the red barn. I just love that contrast.
Fierce with Beauty provided the amazing hair and make up for our “Bride” Suzi. She is such a doll and her BF in real life Josh was our “Groom”. He got to rock an amazing Knotty Tie custom moon bowtie that was color matched to the galaxy skirt. They can customize any of their designs or create you a new one! How cool! They both got to rock some amazing jewelry from Sarah O Jewelry. The earrings Suzi wore look like stars and matched her hairpins.
We used the rentals and styling talents of A Love Tale Rentals to create the perfect elopement setting for the couple. The Ceremony included the moon backdrop and several boho candle holders along with some fun rugs.
The Reception table was set for two and included more rugs and several throw pillows and moon crystal napkin rings. (Made by me from necklace pendants and velvet ribbon) We also included two seating areas and the cake table was done on the old stairs leading up the side of the red barn.
The cake from The Cupcake Gypsies is a fun galaxy cake with what other than the moon resting on top. The French Macarons from Ruby Jean Patisserie were dusted with star glitter and were the prettiest little macarons I have ever seen.
The amazing sign and invite from Amy Zhang Creative really completed the overall vision for this shoot. The sign reads I love her like I love the moon, I adore her in all her different phases. The invite follows suit with the phases of the moon being represented as well! She also has some adorable vow books that read. Moon of My Life and My Sun & Stars.
The amazing outdoor venue provided by Milston Well Farm in Longmont, CO. Such an intimate spot to hold your wedding plus they have donkeys and chickens and their adorable pup Abby who spent the day chilling with us!
