Where is your favorite place in the world? Is it far far away requiring expensive air travel? Join the club. Oh but don't for a second think we are a pity party club, no we here at Wedding Chicks are all about overcoming the odds and making dreams come true, albeit, in sometimes unique and creative ways. Not unlike this next beautiful wedding inspiration pulled together by Soirées & Revelry and Ashley Therese Photography. These wedding geniuses figured out a way to bring Ravello, Italy to Connecticut!
Trust us, you are going to want to keep scrolling, the fabulous decor and the perfectly styled dessert table are some of the prettiest things you will see ever! Oh and be sure to check out even more in the full gallery as well.
Through this styled shoot, we wanted to illustrate how a couple can use inspiration from their favorite destination in the world in their wedding details like linens, food, colors, and textures even if their wedding is not at that location.
Elements of a special location can be incorporated in both subtle and bold ways to create fresh and beautiful elements that all tie together. The result is something truly unique and breathtaking!
The inspiration from this shoot came from one of my favorite places in the world, the Villa Cimbrone gardens in Ravello, Italy. We wanted to convey the look of the gardens there, which have pathways covered in wisteria and bougainvillea climbing up old stone facades.
The colors of the shoot incorporate the beautiful blue of the Mediterranean Sea (ribbons, invitation watercolor, glass tile place setting, etc), as well as the yellows of the lemon groves dotting the cliffs (florals, escort card watercolor, table setting, hand painted detail throughout dessert bar). The colors are vibrant, yet relaxing, much like the vibe when visiting there!
Italian culture is all about gathering family, and of course food, so we had to incorporate a sumptuous Mezze table and gorgeous dessert display. Other nods to the Amalfi coast can be seen in the hand-painted tile patterns featured on the invitations and cake, as well as the limoncello bar- a must have when visiting that region.
I hope this shoot was able to convey a place I love so much and encourages others to want to visit there, as well as inspires couples to create a celebration incorporating a location that is special to them.
