Brides, beware! This spooktacular wedding shoot inspired by Halloween is giving us the chills…but in all the right ways! No bones about it, you too can have a gorgeous Halloween-themed wedding without falling prey to all the cliché decor out there, and Christina Anne Photography along with a team of undead talents are here to show you how.
From the haunted venue, the Bancroft Castle ruins, to the Frankenstein-inspired bridal style, and all the porcupine quills in-between (check the napkins on the table!) this is the Halloween wedding you've always screamed of...err...dreamed of! See more boo-tiful details below and in the full gallery. Happy Halloween!!
From Christina Anne Photography: We wanted to show that you can do a beautiful, elegant, Halloween themed wedding without using any of the usual, gothic, cliché Halloween elements that would normally be expected. But.....come on!....it’s still Halloween! So we won’t leave you disappointed! You’ll find a nod to Halloween in everything we did here.....from branches to bones....cauldrons, candles and even love spells!
Our hair and makeup artist even gave her version of an elegant/glamorous bride of Frankenstein-esque hair style. The non traditional Halloween color scheme of black, deep burgundy, grey, toffee and off-white our creative team decided on, along with natural accents of pheasant feathers, antler bones, upside down roses, and vintage candelabras set the perfect background at the Bancroft Castle Ruins in Groton MA for our photoshoot.
The castle’s history and story was the perfect inspiration! Death, tragedy and a Sanatorium built on a foundation of stone but created out of true love!...it was perfect! Vintage candelabras, lanterns, white ghost pumpkins, draped gossamer fabric and a skeleton caldron decorated the ruins of the castle’s central massive fireplace. Mini cauldron favors with oils and herbs invoked love spells along with intoxicating wine and forbidden fruit beautifully arranged on the couples table.....just be aware!!....again!...it’s Halloween!! Can you spot on the table the small object of great danger?!! the dangerous object our creative decorator used on our couples table ....porcupine quills! Tied up in the knot of each napkin!
The Bancroft Castle ruins have a legacy that many say is founded on broken dreams....I feel that every wedding ceremony performed here helps heal the broken heart of the soul that originally built this castle for the love of his life that he lost...and I believe every wedding will bring peace to any restless soul that might continue to haunt the Bancroft Castle ruins.
