Ooooh we’re dying over this winter wedding shoot, and the gorgeous Rue De Seine wedding gown is just the beginning! Blue Sparrow Events and a truly talented team of wedding vendors brought this cozy, jewel-toned winter wedding shoot together just in time for Christmas, and it’s enough to make any bride consider a winter wedding.
Warm jewel tones, rich textures, and soft candlelight play off the rustic feel of The Union on 8th, which was the perfect location to pull this winter wedding look with an edgy feel that’s both unexpected and flawless. From Penelope L'amore Photography: Inspired by the cozy textures and comforts of the winter season and two lovers with a passion for edgy aesthetics, yet timeless traditions. This styled shoot, set in what was once a blacksmith studio established in 1929, literally makes you want to reach out and touch the walls. Architectural elements like the hand-hewn beams and historic shiplap are illuminated by warm candlelight, industrial lighting, and a playful vixen of a bride who will seduce you in her Rue De Seine number.
The textural elements of this shoot dance in delight. From the dimensional floral bouquets stacked heavy with blooms, to the groom’s jewel-toned wool suit. You can’t miss that cozy emerald green velvet sofa layered with soft faux furs and a cuddly couple in love. The inspiration for this shoot could make any bride consider a winter wedding.
When designing this shoot, I wanted to demonstrate how cheery, intimate, cozy and magical a winter wedding can be. The extravagant smores and hot cocoa spread, along with the lavish offering of a pashmina shawl to keep guests warm are both thoughtful gestures that highlight the giving spirit of the holiday season. Other seasonal touches included cherry and pecan pies piled high, festive wreaths, modern gold terrariums, tons of candlelight, plum lips (which we matched directly to the bridal bouquet), jewel tones and the Pantone color of the year - purple. The fun little cherry on top was the 1968 Buick Skylark convertible.
