creating the perfect surprise

From Victoria Elizabeth Photography: After meeting in college, joining musical forces in their school gospel ensemble, and enjoying a long lasting four year friendship, Taylor and Leander knew God intended more for their relationship. They tried dating other people, but they ultimately made the leap and started seeing each other. And it had a pretty, good outcome: a pretty styled proposal to be exact. Leander made it his mission to surprise Taylor with his beautifully self-designed engagement ring, but with a girlfriend who knew the proposal was coming, it was a challenge. So, he teamed up with his wedding planning friend to create the perfect surprise.

A Surprise proposal

Taylor thought she was doing a solo modeling session to help her friend out, but what she didn't realize was that this photo shoot would capture one of the best moments of her life. Nestled in a local Christmas tree farm, Taylor was enjoying her time in front of the camera when suddenly she heard footsteps coming up behind her. And in that moment, she knew it was him. Putting his arms around her, Leander faced Taylor to him and told her how he wanted her to be with him every day ahead, rainy days and all. He dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. After saying yes, the two of them enjoyed the rest of the shoot as a couple and were BOTH surprised with their first engagement present...a gorgeous ornament with the date of their proposal.

Totally suRprised

From the bride-to-be: I was honestly totally surprised. Leander found a way to make sure that everything was perfect from making sure that my hair and nails were done to letting me pick out my dress to making sure our families were there to celebrate with us after I said yes. I did not know any of this was going on and would lead up to this moment. When I heard his foot steps behind me and he grabbed my waist, I knew it was him! The way he asked me made me realize that he was the man that I truly wanted to spend the rest of my life with. My best friend, now fiancé, truly amazed me with this surprise proposal and made this moment one I will never forget.
