Pure inspiration for the Wedding Day

When the COVID-19 pandemic put the whole world in slow mode, I decided to slow my own self down as well and ponder the image of a perfectly beautiful and charming bride. I did think about this project before the pandemic, working on the idea and carrying it in my head for several months, but there was never a good opportunity to bring it to life. But as the world slowed down, I suddenly had time to assemble my thoughts and ideas. Meanwhile I was approached by the owners of a venue that is in the middle of a magical transformation from ruins into a charming chateau. The owners devote all their time to this chateau, Zámek Zdounky, and have infused this unique place with their souls.

One of the most important things for me regarding this editorial was to make it as eco-friendly as possible. Almost all the greenery and foliage for the flower designs was sourced from the gardens of Chateau Zdounky, and seasonal flowers were used. The cake was made from seasonal local ingredients. I also focused greatly on involving local designers, artists, and vendors who specialize in handmade and traditional approaches to their craft. The silk ribbons were hand-dyed, all the invitations were handwritten on handmade paper, and the jewelry and accessories were handmade as well.

My main inspiration for this concept was Tuscany. A land of unmistakable scents, full of delicious wine and perfect colors. To bring more color into the photos, I added fresh figs and a juicy grapevine, which produced a rich color palette. 

A couple of months after being approached by the owner of Chateau Zdounky, I was standing at the venue with photographer Pamela Drtilová and planning this beautiful wedding day – an event where a charming and graceful bride would be pivotal. On that day my thoughts and ideas began to come to life. Pamela is a master of the play of light, which was essential for creating this perfect picture of a unique and charming bride. 

All the floral decor was designed to complement the venue and highlight its loveliest features. The decor was a joint effort by Svatby podle Katy Dekor, who provided all the furniture and decorations and designed the overall concept, and Klára Uhlířová, who shaped the floral concept into a fabulous reality. We created a unique floral design suspended above the whole length of the wedding table. The elegant and timeless floral centerpieces themselves were complemented with fresh fruit, juicy grapes, and figs. Unique silk hand-dyed ribbons provided by Wisteria and Vine were attached to the bridal bouquet and were a superb and delicate final touch.

The table was also adorned with handwritten invitations, name tags, menus, and envelopes made using handmade paper. All of it was the work of a brilliant artist going by the moniker Malov Anna who ensured every single detail would count.

The wedding dress was tailored to fit my own very concrete concept. The fabulous design duo Kabelková & Oplocká was my first choice, as they are unparalleled. They perfectly captured the pure beauty and elegance of our charming bride. The dress is made from a soft tulle complemented with a blush pink petticoat that added an extra soft and elegant touch. 

The very light and romantic make-up and hairstyle were crafted by the image consultant Nicol Make-up & Photo , whose style highlighted the natural beauty of our stunning bride. The soft waves were accompanied by a beautiful handmade hair accessory, the work of Design Hair Accessories by MR. All of it was chosen and designed to support our bride’s innate grace.

Every detail was important, and so the jewelry design was entrusted to the fantastic Vera Novaková Jewellery, while the cherry on the top – delicious cake and confectionery in complementary colors – was made from local ingredients and baked with love by Cukrový Krámek.
