Give your classic wedding day a bit of a modern edge with just the right touch of black! Yes we know that black is a bit controversial around weddings but trust us... you will LOVE the drama it brings in this gorgeous wedding shoot designed by Treasured Heart Events. And to top it off they even gave the usual reception change and cocktail hour a unique spin!

The Inspiration
Our design and vision for this shoot was classic-elegance with a touch of a twist on each element. The entirety of this shoot was inspired by the show-stopping linen from Nuage Designs. The mix of black and metallic sparked a desire to pull elements that were classic, yet unique in their own way. From the black chairs and chargers to the classic white textured plates, to the beautifully calligraphed black acrylic place cards, these timeless place settings pulled just the right amount of classic to our tablescape. Our florals from Alba Dahlia were garden-inspired with lots of movement and textures through deep scabiosa and dyed silk ribbons. We wanted to incorporate just the right amount of black tones to our floral for a unique touch.
A Simple Change
Our bride effortlessly dawned The Georgina Gown from The Lace Atelier--black tulle and lace infused separates. Our groom sported The Clemens Outfit from The Black Tux that had no shortage of elegant details. With a textured bowtie and black studs, this suit was the perfect complement to our bride-in-black. The perfect touch of classic with a twist!
My favorite subtle element from this shoot was instead of an outfit change from ceremony to reception, we did a personal flower change. Our ceremony bridal bouquet was all white with white streamers, and our groom incorporated black into his ceremony look only through the ribbon of his boutonniere. A simple and effortless way to change your look from ceremony to reception with just the switch of your floral.
Coffee and/or Cocktails
Thinking through the logistics of having a wedding at a venue as stunning as The Olana, we created a "coffee picnic" on the front lawn, which would have served as a cocktail hour had this been a real wedding. We love the idea of taking a non-traditional approach to cocktail hour, and Nightowl Coffee Cart does just that with their alcoholic lattes and espressos.
Our cake by The Flour Shop was black with gold unfinished edges and simple yet classic blooms. Instead of a traditional cake table, we opted for white acrylic columns surrounded by a garden of blooms.
Our stationery suite by Ragan Hope Calligraphy tied the whole shoot together with gorgeous touches of black, white and gold and a mix of mediums between acrylic, vellum, and paper.
Finally, what mansion wedding would be complete without an incredible get-away car? This Maserati provided a perfect touch of class with a unique spin!
